January 2016

edit

  Please do not remove information from articles, as you did to Incidents at Walt Disney World. Wikipedia is not censored, and content is not removed on the sole grounds of perceived offensiveness. Please discuss this issue on the article's talk page to reach consensus rather than continuing to remove the disputed material. If the content in question involves images, you also have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide the images that you may find offensive. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hyper-Calvinism, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages John Gill and William Button. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:08, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to get back

edit

Don't feel guilty of leaving cold turkey. As you can see, I get busy and distracted from time to time as well. The pages are in my watchlist, so whenever you decide to get back I'll know. A recent article on this topic is Islamic views on concubinage, please edit it and give feedback on its talk page. I have also many books and articles on these topics, so if you feel like reading shoot me an email and I'll send them back to you. And happy holidays to you too! This year's been crazy, we can all use a break :-) VR talk 11:39, 15 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Changes to well-established articles

edit

Hi, I'm Skyerise. Please do not arbitrarily change the lead image on an article as you did to ceremonial magic. Wikipedia is a collaborative project. New editors need to follow the bold, revert, discuss process. Before changing the lead image, you should bring it up on the article talk page and see if there is a consensus to do so before changing it. Your change has been reverted. Please engage in discussion on the talk page by proposing changes before implementing them. Also, you added additional uncited material to an uncited paragraph. All additions must be cited to a reliable source. Additions without citations will be reverted also. Skyerise (talk) 08:52, 28 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Skyerise. My apologies if any edits looked reckless, but I am not a new editor by any means. I am not sure what unsupported edits I made, but I'm sure I can link them to the existing citations. As for lead images, I can raise the issue on the talk page, though I'm not sure they were the most controversial edits I've ever made. Not every single edit needs to be discussed beforehand, but it's very nice collaborating with you on Wikipedia. AnandaBliss (talk) 20:10, 31 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Typeface IP section

edit

Hi, thanks for these edits! I think it's best to have them in the article specifically on typeface IP though, as it unbalances the article otherwise. Blythwood (talk) 03:56, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

That works fine with me! I was mainly trying to remove the "globalize" tag by adding in other countries' info but the way it is now I think works as well. AnandaBliss (talk) 12:03, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to pseudoscience and fringe science, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. tgeorgescu (talk) 22:48, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
