New WikiProject Socialism membership system

edit

Hello! I'm in the process of introducing a new membership system to WikiProject Socialism (designed as part of WikiProject X and adopted by a few other projects). The new system works by filling a form which creates a WikiProject Card. I'm manually creating WikiProject cards for current members. You can find and edit yours here. Any change to your WikiProject card will be automaticalle updated at Wikipedia:WikiProject Socialism/Members. If you have any doubt, please, feel free to contact me by replying here using the {{re}} template. Best, --MarioGom (talk) 00:41, 20 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I understand that you are a Marxist-Leninist

But why insist on using the term liquidation? If we were talking about Pinochet or the Holocaust, we wouldn't use terms like this. Is there any particular reason for using liquidation that is not related to your quote on quote very obvious bias? déhanchements (talk) 21:50, 23 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's hard to maintain the assumption that you are operating in good faith when you opt to take this conversation to my talk page rather than the relevant talk page where the discussion you are referring to is actually taking place.
Nonetheless: the reason one wouldn't use the same language to talk about Pinochet or the Holocaust as when one is talking about Stalin and the kulaks is that the former were genocidal fascists. One is inclined to wonder what kind of very obvious, yet unclaimed bias one would need to have to equivocate on such a point.
The word 'liquidation' is particularly inappropriate when talking about the Holocaust or Pinochet, considering 'liquidating as a class' is not synonymous with 'murdering' or 'ethnically cleansing'. When referring to what dekulakization actually was according to the Party and Stalin themselves, there is no reason to impose your or anybody else's absurd historical revisionism. Almost the entirety of Wikipedia's space is seemingly reserved to this task. Surely, somewhere on Wikipedia, there is space for factual information, rather than blatant bourgeois propaganda. Historical revisionism? Did Stalin not commit genocide against the Kulaks, the definition of which is "the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation." déhanchements (talk) 18:53, 24 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
