Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Professor Ratigan do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. This message also applies for the articles Basil of Baker Street and The Great Mouse Detective. I wish you a most wonderful day! Kyra~(talk) 20:32, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

David Strathairn

edit

Please stop removing the material at David Strathairn. You cannot copyright facts, only their presentation. Use the email links at Wikipedia:Contact us to pursue the matter further. shotwell 15:03, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

You need to refrain from making baseless legal threats. This is against policy and can lead to blocking. Moreover, the repeated removal of this information after your concerns have been clearly addressed constitutes vandalism. Stop removing the material. shotwell 15:31, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
You would be wise to listen to both to the points. While we can't stop you from pursuing legal action against Wikipedia, anyone who is doing so, or intends to do so, is prohibited from editing due to fears of legal complications. If you intend to involve your lawyers, you will be blocked from editing, and will have to address your concerns to the foundation. If you do not intend to, stop threatening to do so.
And the general point otherwise is correct. You cannot copyright facts. WilyD 16:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and you may wish to be aware of the three revert rule, which prohibits reverting any article more than three times in one day. Cheers, WilyD 16:12, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits to WP:BLPN could give editors of Wikipedia the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that this is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a genuine dispute with the Community or its members, please use dispute resolution. Regarding this edit. You should strike the threat, and the repeating of it several times, and work this out in discussion. Otherwise you are subject to a block. Crockspot 00:38, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
