Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Shuflix. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Speedy deletion nomination of Shuflix

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shuflix requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:49, 4 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please note that I have declined the speedy, but do not be shocked if this article is PRODded or goes to articles for deletion. JudgeRM (talk to me) 03:54, 4 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Shawn in Montreal. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a platform to promote the business ventures, current or failed, of Sergio Masís-Obando. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 04:58, 4 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Shawn in Montreal: I'm afraid this is not getting to the truth of the matter. In no way am I trying to use Wikipedia as a soapbox. I understand that there must be a high level of rigor and scrutiny placed on new pages--- but it also happens that I am not spamming for anybody. I'm knowledgeable of the scene and know exactly where to find reliable sources for references. Andresramon (talk) 15:31, 4 December 2016 (UTC)AndresramonReply

  • I do see that your article an Jeff Glueck was just speedily deleted. I wouldn't have done that, because when I checked it it did seem as if Glueck was notable. I think that was hasty on the part of the administrator. If you decide to recreate it, you need to be sure to support it with, once again, reliable sources. And while yes of course a Gnews hit can be spam, you're clearly smart enough to know the difference between that and a bona fide news piece. So for example your choice of the wedding notice was a poor one. best, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:54, 4 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • @Shawn in Montreal: Great, it seems I'm swimming against the current. How can I recover the source info for the Jeff Glueck page? If you notice a trend, I'm writing about topics I am very knowledgeable in. I have met the people I am writing about, and am aware of their successes and failures (for some things). I do agree, I should have used a better source than the wedding post. I was hoping that a NYT post would provide a stronger 'notability' weight, since my other posts are under evaluation. Andresramon (talk) 16:01, 4 December 2016 (UTC)AndresramonReply
  • Hi @Deb:, would it be possible to restore the speedily deleted Jeff Glueck to Andresramon's userspace so he can continue developing it? I had taken a look at it just before you speedily deleted it and while the article did indeed fall afoul of a7 in its previous form, my Gnews search revealed to me that he was a notable enough tech entrepreneur and I would be willing to help Andresramon complete the article with enough reliable sources to meet our notability guidelines. thanks, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:08, 4 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
    • And Andresramon, while we're waiting to see if Deb wishes to respond, my own personal rule of thumb for "multiple" reliable sources is three: so you'd want at least three strong references to articles about Glueck -- that focus on him as squarely as possible, showing him to be notable in his field -- from independent sources. Problem is, while the NYT is obviously highly respected, a wedding notice isn't the sort of citation that's going to help. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:15, 4 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Now I seriously feel like I am being targeted. Do you gain points/experience for submitting things for deletion @Zackmann08: ? @Shawn in Montreal: Can you help me on this?

This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Enough with the "everyone is out to get me" comments, these articles were nominated for deletion because they are advertising, regardless of anything or anyone else, and they violate policy for being advertising. Wikipedia never takes kindly or will tolerate advertising of any kind, and when an account solely focuses with advertising companies, and no other contributions, that alone starts suspicions.
