Influence of severe weather on American politics

Hey Andromeda8362! I saw your revert which stated "Keep weather and politics separate!" Well, they do mix all the time. In fact, I've been working through a new broad-article topic which will eventually be "Influence of severe weather on American politics" (to go along the series of articles like Politics and sports or Politics of climate change). Right now, it is a red link and I plan to eventually make a draft of it. But, I plan to have it be a "parent" page [summary page] to yearly/decade-articles (so probably a Influence of severe weather on American politics in the 2020s may exist in the future).

For example, I have published the 2020-specific article, which included issues with COVID-19 and tornado disaster relief, along with the big wildfire controversies and new legislation from it.

I started the 2021-specific article in draftspace today...which includes the 2021 Texas power crisis. Well, I wanted to see if you had any interest in helping out with the creation of these articles? I'm 100% planning for 2020–2025, with 2020 already in mainspace (still stuff to add to it) and 2021 in draftspace. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 20:44, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

Yeah, NOAA under the second presidency of Donald Trump was the first of these types of articles, which involved terrorist threats against the National Weather Service, weather balloon launches being stopped, along with the proposed closing of the Storm Prediction Center.

I agree that weather and politics should remain separate, but unfortunately, they do relate. Even National Weather Service broadcasts get pulled before the U.S. Congress (such as the National Weather Service bulletin for Hurricane Katrina) and weather issues for tornadoes in the last few years led to the creation of the TORNADO Act. All of that was to say, I agree with your sentiment, but they do heavily relate in reality. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 20:50, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

I think at this point that there needs to an Influence of severe weather on American Politics for every year 2020 and on, especially with the fact that more changes related to political parties and figures are having affects on disaster relief and weather forecasting than ever. Usage of templates

Hi. Many thanks for your recent additions to various storm articles. Please note that rather than add long lists of storms to the end of each article, each such topic or category list is placed on a separate page as a template and this is then linked from each applicable article using, for example, {{2023 tornado outbreaks}}. The content of the template page appears on each page that the template is invoked. This means only one place has to be edited to add a new storm link to all of the applicable articles.
