Chalveon and Barstable School Sites

edit

Sorry to contact you here, I am totally new to using Wikipedia, the reason I requested the Chalvedon article be delete was due to its history pages.

I represent both Chalvedon and Barstable schools and would like to "lock down" their pages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chalvedon_School & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barstable_School) and delete their history edited pages as they contain false and offensive material in them. I am unsure if locking a topic from being edited further is even an option on Wikipedia..?

Obviously pupils seem to have great pleasure in defacing the image of the schools on such a popular public website.

Any advice or information would be appreciated please.—Preceding unsigned comment added by AndyBaines (talkcontribs) 10:38, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there – please don't apologise for getting in touch, it's part of our "job". I'll reply here (and you can too) just so we keep the conversation in one place. I can totally appreciate where you're coming from, as I'm a pupil at a secondary school in London. We can't prevent them from being edited unless there's a prolonged spate of vandalism to them. What I can do (and will do now) is remove entries from the history of those pages that are offensive. I'll also keep an eye on both those articles and should be able to revert any unwanted changes quickly. Hope this helps, and just reply here if there's anything else I can do. Thats great, thankyou very much, I will keep an eye on them too but obviously am not as fluent as you on the Wikipedia site or have the permissions to remove the offending articles. I have been able to browse the whole Barstable history but it seems that Chalvedon was the main one hit.
Again, thankyou, your help is greatly appreciated.
Not at all, you're very welcome. Any other issues, just let me know on my talk page and I'll do my best to sort it out. Cheers, Alex Muller 11:46, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Signing your posts

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --Orange Mike | Talk 12:59, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
