His books are notable

Hi Andy, out of curiosity, I did a quick search on Out West on the Overland Train and found three reviews on JSTOR which is certainly enough to meet notability for an article about that book and I imagine at least another one or two of his books are similar. The issue often with writers (especially journalist) is not much is written about them which makes a biographical article difficult. However, if there is enough written about their work, that can be used to support notability. Feel free to reach out to me on my talk page (click the "talk" link by my signature). I am responding to you here rather than my talk page because I figure that is easier for you. Yes, I can tell a lot went into the draft and it is certainly well-written. The main issue is the lack of sources as most of it is unsourced. For example, there are no cited sources for the Early life and education section. While sources do not need to be online, they do need to be published sources from reputable publications and you need to include enough information someone can find it, even if that means in archives at a library or some other institution. For example, for a newspaper article, you need to provide the author (if known), title of the article, publication and date published.

Take a look at this guide for citing sources. I generally use Visual Editor (note the Cite button may display as the quote icon, rather than word "Cite" but its next to the link icon) and you will want to use Manual then fill out the relevant fields, (Automatic works for many online sources by copying in the URL or the ISBN for books).

Do you have access library resources? As I stated, I was able to find some sources about one of his books and hopefully can find more about him and his books but that will not be helpful if you cannot access them so will need to figure something out.

As for the external links, it's links like you used for Kilpatrick's Bakery (Kilpatrick's Bakery) but honestly who his father's clients were should not be included. These are minor issues, though and certainly will not cause the draft to not be accepted. Also, I wouldn't fret too much about finding sources about him serving on various boards as none of that helps with establishing notability which the main focus. Dear S0091, I don't know whether it was you or somebody else, but the Richard Reinhardt article, with lots of excellent edits, has gone live. I am absolutely delighted. Thank you so much for all the research you did to find the many reference links I didn't even know existed. Do you still think it's worth my developing separate pages for a few of his books? Hi Andy, yes I did some research thinking you likely did not have access to resources or it would be difficult. Largely you made it easy as I just need to back into the facts you laid out although that is WP:BACKWARD to technically how an encyclopedia article should be written where you start with published sources then summarize what they say. However, you really did stick to verifiable facts, even if you didn't realize it and it was already well-written in addition Reinhardt (your father?...no need to confirm but am assuming) is an interesting person I did remove some content for which I was unable to find sources and/or seemed trivial given this is a global encyclopedia.

Strictly from an encyclopedic perspective, I think an article or two about his books would make it more "whole" if that makes sense. It's you up to you, I don't mind sending sources to you via email. I love doing research but loathe writing lol. No issue at all if you are not up to it. Wikipedia is almost entirely volunteer so even those of us who are "experienced" do what we want to do.

Can you view the newspaper sources I added (via Newspapers.com)? My understanding is the public should be able to view them if they are "clipped" and this was my first time using the clip method so appreciate feedback. S0091 (talk) 20:25, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

I spent a lot of time on the draft and I appreciate your comment on its accuracy, even if it was a backwards encyclopedia process. Most of all, I appreciate the edits and improvements. I do know that most Wikipedia editors are volunteers. I might be interested in getting involved after I retire.

Yes, Dick Reinhardt is my dad. I desperately wanted his important work and contributions to be noted. I am a journalist also, hence the insistence on honesty.
