editHello, I'm RA0808. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Eric D. Goodman seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Hi there! I reverted your change to the article because it departed from the neutral point of view (NPOV for short) that is expected on Wikipedia. NPOV is very important here because we want to represent "fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias, all of the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic". Your additions such as "His childhood as a navy dependent, commonly referred to as a 'navy brat,' was instrumental in his love for travel" read more like a fan's point of view rather than a neutral point of view. That's understandable! You are a fan... but when we write on Wikipedia we need to be more dispassionate in our tone.
- For more information about NPOV you can see the page on the topic at WP:NPOV. I also recommend checking out The Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tutorial for new editors to help you get comfortable with the various parts of Wikipedia. If you have any other questions the Wikipedia Teahouse is a great resource where you can post your questions to get quick responses from experienced editors. Hope this helps!
