How to use talk pages

[edit]

@Anonymsiy and Nrco0e: Could you please discuss things like this on the article talk page (Talk:2102 Tantalus in this case), rather than on someone's user talk page? Discussions about article content are buried there, and users who might watch the article itself are left out of the process. Even if nobody replies to a post on an article talk page, a record of it remains and it may be picked up again many years later. If you're interested in someone's input, that's cool -- just tag them in your post! In general, please keep posts on user talk pages limited to stuff that's specifically related to the user.

Also, Nrco0e explicitly asked to stop clogging their user talk page just a few days ago. Renerpho (talk) 10:59, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Nrco0e just asked to stop arguing about something which did not involve them, not clogging their userpage overall. Also, i mentioned it to them as they are great at rewriting asteroid articles and might be interested on the data i uncovered. But i still do get your points - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 11:01, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Renerpho: I don't really see the issue of asking people about working on articles on their user talk page (well... as long it isn't persistent and the person asking isn't intentionally being lazy), but yeah it'd be nice if the issue was also brought up to the article's talk page as well. GIF request

[edit]

Hiya, sorry for the true color drama over the past few days. Now that stuff's over, I hope things are going well. Anyways, I've started working on the Nysa article and I would like to request a GIF animation of Nysa's shape model rotating together with LBT's photos. Basically, take the top and bottom rows from File:Nysa LBT SHARK-VIS 2026-02-15 AO 4.png (and all the other photos from 2026 Feb 15) and animate them together. Make sure the GIF frames are aligned so that scale bar and North-East compass don't wiggle around. I hope my instructions are clear. By the way, thanks for fixing up a bunch of asteroid articles! 02:32, 5 August 2026 (UTC) Nrco0e (talkcontribs) 02:32, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

i'll see what i can do and thanks - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 08:21, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Done! by the way, I use this site for making these gifs and stuff. - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 08:30, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Awesome, thank you so much! :D Nrco0e (talkcontribs) 09:10, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
no prob! - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 09:11, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also, i just noticed that a science magazine likely used my original file :) - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 09:19, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Maybe? Hard to tell. I've had so many situations where some news website or Youtuber like Anton Petrov uses my Wikimedia uploads that it's just unsurprising at this point. Nrco0e (talkcontribs) 09:41, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
hello wonderful person this is anton - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 09:50, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup help

[edit]

Heya, can you help me clean up all the articles in Category:Nysa asteroids? There's a bunch of really old articles that use the outdated term "Nysian asteroid" or "Nysa family" and have italicized asteroid names. You can check my latest edit history to get an idea of what things to change. You can check the non-redirect articles at https://petscan.wmcloud.org/, which allows you to filter and list non-redirect pages in a category. Nrco0e (talkcontribs) 08:30, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

ok, i'll try! did you see what i told you on torifune? - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 08:35, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I saw. I already saw the JAXA news article and presentation PDF when they showcased the images on Youtube. I also already saw the Kamo'oalewa paper (I check arXiv daily so I keep up with this stuff). Nrco0e (talkcontribs) 08:42, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
i think i've done enough for now. - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 08:56, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
