Remember Wikipedia isn't the Metal Archives. The message above is almost a tutorial on Wikipedia. I recommend you read it urgently! Wikipedia is made of articles, and does not replacing the genres, because do not add in anything. Regards, Cannibaloki 03:23, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

2008 in heavy metal music

edit

Stop adding names of hardcore punk bands and articles that do not exist; His editions have not added anything to this page, because Wikipedia is not a blog with suggestions of links to illegal downloading. Regards, Cannibaloki 23:16, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

However, the point is there aren't any sources on their page terming them (in recent times) heavy metal. Wikipedia goes by sources, not editor reasoning. If there are reliable sources, then great, no problem. Prophaniti (talk) 08:30, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I removed the album because it was a double-entry: it was entered under both the 24th and 27th :P Prophaniti (talk) 23:42, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of 2010 in heavy metal music

edit

I have nominated 2010 in heavy metal music, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2010 in heavy metal music. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Intelligentsium 17:02, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of 2010 in heavy metal music

edit

The article 2010 in heavy metal music has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It's still 2009. Let's wait a while until 2010 actually rolls around.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Irbisgreif (talk) 14:28, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Fezmar's removal of sources

edit

Fezmar probably isn’t the sort to listen to reason, but here’s a suggestion: if he persists in enforcing the letter of the rule, you could change the heading of the section from “albums expected” to something like “albums in production”. After all, he’s complaining that the sources don’t say the albums are actually expected in 2010: well the simple answer is to make it so they don’t look like they’re claiming that in the first place. Just a suggestion that might help. 86.129.208.191 (talk) 16:39, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Adema

edit

You might want to point out Fezmar's hypocrisy in accusing you of original research. He is adding a band with no sources as to it's metal status, you are challenging and removing this. Anything that is unsourced can, according to wiki rules, be removed. He's the one guilty of original research at the moment. 86.129.195.198 (talk) 22:39, 27 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

RE: AC/DC and Cancer Bats

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. However, please know that editors do not own articles and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, know that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

The source you have removed along with Cancer Bats mentions the band playing metal on two occasions. Once as a brief description of the band, and again as the band talks about their new album. Your disruptive actions of removing sourced information may be considered vandalism and may also result in being blocked from editing. Wikipedia is not a source for Wikipedia. Copying and pasting article intros into my talk page is neither a source nor an argument. Wikipedia relies on reliable sources, not whether or not you believe a band to play metal or not, and certainly not what a poorly written article has to say. Fezmar9 (talk) 18:09, 5 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just because you created a page, it does not mean only you can decide what changes may occur. No user on Wikipedia can claim ownership of an article. Editing Wikipedia is a collaborative effort involving numerous editors. I have no idea what "rule" you believe I am ignoring that you mentioned in your edit summary. In fact, I am enforcing simple Wikipedia guidelines. Just as with Adema, there are plenty of sources for both Cancer Bats and AC/DC playing heavy metal music. As I said before, the source that you are removing for Cancer Bats mentions it multiple times, and there are several sources for AC/DC on their wiki page. Sorry you're having such trouble with Fezmar, Ant Smusher, would love to help but it's just not worth it. Unfortunately, he's representative of how wikipedia really works: if you're part of the "club", you get to do whatever you want. Block users, lock pages, commit original research, remove sources, ignore discussions, and generally just use the rules as and when you please. I've seen it many many times. It's a shame, but that's simply the way it is. Keep on uplolding the rules and you'll probably get blocked for it. Then when you complain your block will be extended for having a gall to do so. Wikipedia is unfortunately a good idea spoiled by the narrow-minded, self-obsessed bully-boys who run it, and make sure that no user can ever change things in a way they don't like. 86.129.205.224 (talk) 11:18, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry to hear your contributions are being constantly reverted/vandalized by Fezmar9. His edits are borderline rules, and he may get banned if he continues to break Wikipedia's editing rules.   Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to We Came as Romans appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. GunMetal Angel 00:37, 2 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

2011 in heavy metal music

edit

Look damn it I'm trying to be helpful around here, it's your kind of people who piss my fucking ass off; First off, Emo is not a metal sub-genre and i would never post a release on 2012 in heavy metal music, same thing for punk rock, and I can tell you how retarded you are when you say "Post-Metal" is not "Metal"; WTF, are you kidding me, and i also guess that "Alternative Metal" is not Metal either. Look men do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing yourself, just because you dont like the subgenre doesn't mean it's not Metal, like it or not METALCORE is Metal, Glam Metal is Metal... I guess you don't like Blessed by a Broken Heart, that's why you're doing all this drama, there are lots of METALHEADS that want to see a complete list of metal release not just the one's mr. Ant smusher agree's on, give me a break men; also this list is about worldewide releases not american releases, so stop changing Nothnegal's Decadence release dates to February... Want to get me banned, do it, just remember i will always do my best to make this list much complete so won't you just shut the hell up, listen to Resolution, and chill the F*ck out BRO.(Knotedatitud 20:45, 25 January 2012 (UTC))

Your recent editing history shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.

If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly.   Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk: Knotedatitud. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Abhijay (☎ Talk) (✐ Deeds) 13:34, 29 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you make personal attacks on other people, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. Also, Please do not make attack statements in your edit summaries as this can lead you to violating WP:NPA. If you have a problem, discuss it on the article talk page than going out to attack other users in an abusive manner. Even if you didn't mean to be abusive, maybe you are just having a bad day. I'd suggest take some time off before proceeding in a belligerent fashion. Abhijay (☎ Talk) (✐ Deeds) 05:59, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

When adding references, be careful not to use <ref></ref> tags within the "References" section as you did on Insision. This breaks the {{Reflist}} template. Electricmuffin11 (talk) 20:25, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

oops thank you, i didnt realize i made that mistake.

Actually, I just realized that you didn't make that mistake—I was dealing with some other editors that did that and I didn't read Insision carefully enough. Sorry. :) Electricmuffin11 (talk) 20:29, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mutiny Within, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Synchronicity (album) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
