A cup of coffee for you!

Thanks for taking WP:OTRS tickets. Your page says that you live in Delhi. If organizers manage to present meta:WikiConference India 2016, then I hope you consider attending. India needs more people like you engaged in Wikipedia and you would be an excellent teacher for others. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:53, 7 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Joseph Warwick Bigger, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Irish. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Susan McMaster may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Conflict of interest in Wikipedida

Hi Anupmehra. I work on conflict of interest issues here in Wikipedia. This dif is a clear violation of the NPOV policy, in that you added a bunch of promotional content and removed sourced content that was critical of the subject. I'm giving you notice of our Conflict of Interest guideline and Terms of Use, and will have some comments and requests for you below.

Information icon Hello, Anupmehra. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

Comments and requests

Wikipedia is a widely-used reference work and managing conflict of interest is essential for ensuring the integrity of Wikipedia and retaining the public's trust in it. As in academia, COI is managed here in two steps - disclosure and a form of peer review. Please note that there is no bar to being part of the Wikipedia community if you want to be involved in articles where you have a conflict of interest; there are just some things we ask you to do (and if you are paid, some things you need to do).

Disclosure is the most important, and first, step. While I am not asking you to disclose your identity (anonymity is strictly protecting by our WP:OUTING policy) would you please disclose if you have some connection with Travis Lane Stork, The Doctors show, or CBS? You can answer how ever you wish (giving personally identifying information or not), but if there is a connection, please disclose it. Please reply here - I am watching this page.

I'll add here that if you are not comfortable discussing this with me one on one, since we are also having a content dispute, we can open this to the community at WP:COIN.

Thanks! Jytdog (talk) 19:55, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Jytdog Are you kidding me? I'm now convinced that it is *you* who are not comfortable discussing your stand with me. I did not think, it would stretch this far. Well, at least what you could do is to reply to my concerns raised on article's talk page instead posting templates and useless messages on my talk age. You do not own Wikipedia articles. Discuss it on articles' talk page or admit that you are uncomfortable discussing this particular subject with me and take it whatever notice-board you want. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 20:10, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
To be frank, I don't know how to discuss such a blatantly NPOV-violating edit as the one I pointed out above, with someone who has not declared a COI or advocacy relation to the subject or provided some other context that makes sense of it. I don't see a way forward with just the two of us, unless there is something else going on (I am always aware that there are things that I don't know). If we go to a board, the board we take this to depends on whether you have an external relationship ( a COI) in which case we bring this to COIN, or if you are just advocating on this article (in which case we bring this to NPOVN). Would you please let me know if you have a connection with the doctor, the show, etc, are a fan, or something else? It is a real question - I don't know the answer. My note above was really asking questions, not assuming. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 20:17, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
By the way, I would be totally open to something like "Yeah I see what you mean about that dif adding positive stuff and removing the one critical thing in the article - I see how you could call that an NPOV violation, but I have no connection to the doctor or the show nor am I fan, but rather X" filling in the blank. Jytdog (talk) 20:23, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Will you reply on article's talk page? That's where we discuss about articles. And base your words on evidence not your fragments of imagination, that I noticed you did when you accused me of COI and adding Promo stuffs (while you did not remove any those promo stuffs while editing the page recently, I wonder why!). Anupmehra -Let's talk! 20:40, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
This is a discussion about your behavior, which is why it is here. Would you please let me know if you have some connection with Travis Lane Stork, The Doctors show, CBS, his publishers, etc? Thanks. I have not accused you of anything. If I said, "You have a conflict of interest" I would be making a claim or an accusation. Here, I am asking what drove your NPOV edit. Asking. And yes, asking if you have a COI. Jytdog (talk) 20:53, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
It would have been nice of you if you had started a thread on my talk page with above words. I think, we are still discussing on article's talk page if contents that I added to the article was indeed a Promo thing. Let first settle that. And, to COI. NO. I do not have conflict. If you effort to dig the article's history a bit, you will find that it was only yesterday that I made my first edit to that article. To answer any follow-up questions as to why did I chose to edit the article yesterday, that I however can answer with "My choice, you do not own that or any Wiki article" seeing your useless essay with templates on my talk page; it is just because I received an WP:OTRS ticket. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 21:21, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for letting me know that you are working on an OTRS ticket. I have worked at OTRS before too, and have worked with editors responding to OTRS tickets. Please do be aware that there is a tendency for people working on OTRS become proxies advocating for the subject of BLP articles - the direct contact with article subjects (or their agents, or whoever is submitting the ticket) can actually generate a COI. I think that is what is happening here. If you are not familiar with this tendency please ask other people who work at OTRS, or even Guy who helped set that whole system up. Your editing on the topic really has moved into advocacy, Anupmehra. Jytdog (talk) 21:54, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for letting me know your sincere concerns. Please discuss the matter at hand on article's talk page. I hope this thread ends with my this comment. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 22:09, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Just to let you know that customer concerns has already been addressed. What we are discussing, is my stand that contents in question requires discussion. I hope it clears up confusion and help you not imagine further my coi status. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 22:14, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
