Greetings Wikipedians. I am requesting to post the below information to the New York Blood Center page. Can you tell me if this addition will be acceptable? I will not edit unless and until the below inclusion is approved. I will be watching here on this page until I recieve approval to make the change. Thank you for your time.
During the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic in New York City, New York Blood Center was the first blood center to collect convalescent blood plasma donations from people who have recovered from COVID-19 to treat other patients with advanced illness. On March 27th, 2020, the first unit of convalescent blood plasma was drawn. In the treatment, known as convalescent plasma, the patient is transfused with the plasma from a recovered COVID-19 patient with the goal of using the donor’s antibodies to help clear the virus more rapidly.
