Welcome to Wikipedia, Arbol01! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! Prime numbers mod 6 and 30
editYou changed "greater than 5" to "greater than 3" in:
- If p is a prime number greater than 3 then p mod 6 is either 1 or 5 and p mod 30 is 1, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, or 29.
As my revert summary [1] said: 5 does not satisfy the and part. This means that 5 mod 30 is not 1, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, or 29. "greater than 6" could be replaced with "greater than 5", but saying 6 is also correct and it avoids speculation about whether it's sloppy writing and should have said >= 5 instead of > 5. - Your new two-part version is true, but I'm not sure it would be worth splitting it in two parts just to include the prime 5 in p mod 6. Your last congruence is the same as saying that all primes above 2 are odd, and the article already says that in the lead. PrimeHunter 12:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
