Archagon
Welcome!
editHi Archagon, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!
- Editing tutorial, learn to have fun with Wikipedia.
- Picture tutorial, instructions on uploading images.
- How to write a great article, to make it an featured article status.
- Manual of Style, how articles should be written.
Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :
Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

hi! i'm new also. but i'm also interested in the question you posted about using Amazon.com images. There is this discussion: Wikipedia:Images from Amazon.com which seems to conclude that it is ok, as long as a list is kept in order to keep track of them all in case anyone eventually gets mad at Wikipedia. However, since it doesn't look like anyone is adding to the list, I'm nervous about diving in myself. But it's so hard to get a real idea of how many people are actually working on these projects... maybe it hasn't caught on because no one's paying attention? *hesitant shrug* Schwael 09:44, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Buffalo Soldier.ogg
editThanks for uploading Image:Buffalo Soldier.ogg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:57, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
