Please stop
editPlease stop making automated or semi-automated edits to change your username/signature. This is not ordinary procedure, especially when dealing with years-old edits and archives this can cause problems. Several of your edits have already been reverted as they disrupted existing content. Please pause to discuss these edits, before continuing. Further disruption may result in a block. The WordsmithTalk to me 21:46, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Please point out the correct way of having the same username on all Wikipedia pages/talk pages/user talk pages/archives etc. I will make no further contributions until this issue is neatly resolved :ArdadN 21:52, 7 February 2024 (UTC).
- There is no such way. Everything here is irrevocably freely licensed and not owned by you in a way that would allow you to change it unilaterally across the entirety of Wikipedia. Discussion history is generally preserved. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:53, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Except in very unusual cases, the redirect at your old userpages serves as attribution and a link between your old contributions and your current username. There is generally no need to go back into old discussions and edit things, because it can cause attribution problems (among other issues). All of your contributions have been updated in our logs and page histories to reflect the current username, that should be sufficient. The WordsmithTalk to me 22:00, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Old discussions sometimes contain links to contributions which show a "different" author/username. It's a bit of a mess, but I agree that my edits may further complicate things. Thank you for the clarification. ArdadN 22:04, 7 February 2024 (UTC).
- That's true, but in that case the redirect from the userpage right next to the Contributions link is sufficient to direct anyone looking to the right place. Thank you for agreeing to stop and discuss, I'm glad we were able to get this figured out. The WordsmithTalk to me 22:20, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

- The standard way is to have your old username pages redirect to your new username pages using
#REDIRECT [[User:ArdadN]]
or similar. Old signatures are usually left alone, because mass updating them is WP:MEATBOT-ish behavior and spams watchlists, which can bug people. Perhaps you may want to create a redirect at User:Andrei nacu? Hope this helps. –Novem Linguae (talk) 22:38, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
