- Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page free diving do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Graham87 07:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Re: Links
editFrom your description, they sound like they would fit in the list of freedivers - they seem experienced enough. I have therefore added them back to the list of freedivers with a link to their profile. However, I have not added them to the list of external links per the external links guidelines which discourage commercial links. They should be able to be found in the Apnea Academy by those who live close to them and want their services. I request that you don't put them back per the conflict of interest page; because you are the webmaster of the site, you shouldn't add the links - instead ask an independent Wikipedian as you have done now. It seems like there is a Spanish version of the freediving article at es:Apnea (deporte). Maybe that is not the same concept, as some interlanguage links do not go to the right place because of differences in terms between languages. See Wikipedia:Interlanguage links for more information on links between different language Wikipedia articles. Graham87 03:28, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, translate away! I didn't write any of the article - I just found it when someone was trying to add a link about an unreleased film to about a dozen articles. You can translate as much as you like between Wikipedias as long as you acknowledge the original source somewhere (like in an edit summary or on the talk page). Graham87 03:58, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
