Yep. I didn't look very carefully at the stuff they created but I remember it was all over the place--typical of a gun for hire getting their business from whoever. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 22:07, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Palakollu. Palakollu Municipality Merged 7 Villages on dated 07 January 2020. with 35 election wards it is total population of 1,04,216 (as 2011 Census). Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. - Desalamma (talk) 19:09, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

Desalamma - your English is not very clear, but you seem to be saying that, in the Palakollu article infobox, where it says Population 2011, and refers to the 2011 census, we should not actually give the 2011 figure, but a figure for 2020 - obviously, I cannot agree, so my reversion of your changes was correct. - Arjayay (talk) 16:49, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

Round Rock ISD

I am a parent trying to update my child's school district page. There is a lot of out of date stuff. I added current stuff with reference and it was removed. I didn't know that being a parent disqualified me from updating. This is a big learning for me that Wiki is inaccurate.

Hello IP:2605:6000:1023:61C7:4D1B:B2AE:34EF:A1A8 from Round Rock. Thank you for your post, but please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp.
The Round Rock Independent School District page has an unfortunate history of promotion and copyright violations - on 10 February 2017‎ all of the edits back to November 2014 had to be permanently deleted.
There have been multiple IPs recently editing the Round Rock Independent School District page, although they may all be you, and I have left messages at their user pages, but these have been ignored. The recent additions are highly promotional and copyright violations, and they also break numerous other rules such as putting External links in the bodytext, misuse of bold and other formatting problems.
You have stated you are a parent, which is a fairly minor conflict of interest, until you start making promotional additions, such as you have been.
I suggest you create an account so advice can be left for you in one place, and also read Referencing for beginners and Independent.
As already explained on User talk:2605:6000:1023:61C7:4D1B:B2AE:34EF:A1A8 we are not interested in what the School District says about itself, as they have a clear conflict of interest, what we need are references from reliable, independent sources - If you have any questions, please come back - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 14:26, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
If you look at the page history, an Administrator has now deleted your last 17 edits for breaches of copyright, and has also removed "some unsourced content and material that we don't normally include" - Arjayay (talk) 09:53, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

SEE TV

hi Arjayay! i got your message about listing of (SEE TV) list of Tv channel of pakistan. Basically SEE TV is the official licensed satellite tv channel in pakistan www.seetv.pk

i've tried many times to create the article of (SEE TV) but having some issues, can you guide me that how can i able to create official tv channel article? please guide me.. email: seetvofficials@gmail.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muhammadsaaduddin2010 (talkcontribs) 22:40, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Muhammadsaaduddin2010 Thanks for your post
Firstly, please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp
SEE TV has an unfortunate history, It was deleted in April 2019 as it was "Created by a banned or blocked user (Saaduddin20) in violation of ban or block", a later version was redirected to SEE TV HD in Febriuary 2020. and deleted on 2 March for (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion} so the redirect was also deleted. See TV was redirected to Zaiqa in February 2018, which was redirected to Zaiqa TV also in February 2018, Zaiqa TV was deleted in April 2019, for "no apparent evidence of notability" and the redirect pages were also deleted as there was no article to redirect them to.
There have been multiple accounts blocked for promotional additions to these articles including User:Shams.zamtv, User:Saaduddin2016, User:Saaduddin20 and User:Seetvlahore. You say "i've tried many times to create the article of (SEE TV)" so I wonder if you are behind these blocked accounts?
I see that you have made a declaration of a conflict of interest on your user page, and have created Draft:SEE TV which is pending review. As I am not a new page reviewer I cannot do that, you will need to wait your turn in the queue. In the meantime, please try to meet WP:42 and find "significant coverage, in reliable sources that are independent of the topic." Brandsynario and fashiontrends.pk are not known as "reliable" publications you need more, and longer, coverage in sources like The Express Tribune - Arjayay (talk) 09:29, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Arjayay! thank you for your reply.. as you said that i will need reliable sources like (The Express Tribune) so i have some article from it but in that articles they have mentioned about just our aired tv programs. will these be enough? Muhammadsaaduddin2010 (talk) 20:43, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Muhammadsaaduddin2010 - as asked above, please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp
Wikipedia is not really interested in your programs/schedules, we are not here to promote your station, and they will change over time in any case.
Wikipedia wants information and discussion about the channel itself, including any negative comments, to balance any positive comments - which is one of the reasons why people with a conflict of interest find it so difficult to write articles. - Arjayay (talk) 19:48, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Ok! can you guide me what should i do? Muhammadsaaduddin2010 (talk) 20:45, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Muhammadsaaduddin2010 you need to keep looking for "significant coverage, in reliable sources that are independent of the topic", as explained above/
If you can't find such coverage, there is not a lot you can do. This is discussed/explained in Wikipedia:No amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability
Good luck - Arjayay (talk) 09:22, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Need to stop the "correcting" of "broadcasted" in a period quote in article "KFAY (Medford, Oregon)"

The article KFAY (Medford, Oregon) includes the following quote from a contemporary newspaper article: "Concerts will be broadcasted in addition to the news and market reports from The Mail Tribune". ("Put Valley Radio in at Central Point", Medford Mail Tribune, July 21, 1922, page 3.) You have twice changed "broadcasted" to "broadcast", however the "ed" suffix should be retained because it exists in the original quote. I have changed the article back to reflect the original newspaper article, and would like to know how to avoid this problem in the future. Thank you.Thomas H. White (talk) 15:29, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Thomas H. White - sorry, I missed the fact that it was a quotation. I know I am not the only editor correcting "broadcasted", but I may be the most active.
As some people do not see "broadcasted" as an error, adding [sic], or [sic] both of which are visible in the article, is possibly excessive, but {{sic|hide=y}} does not show in the article, only the edit page as seen, or rather not seen, here - Arjayay (talk) 15:54, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
Having re-read that, you may need to compare the text to the edit page, to see what I am trying (rather poorly) to say, so I have already added it to the article. - Arjayay (talk) 15:58, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for handling this so quickly. Also, I was not familiar with the {{sic|hide=y}} option, so I have made a note of that for the future.--Thomas H. White (talk) 16:09, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
No worries Thomas H. White - my fault for failing to see it was in a quotation - I think that the "|hide=y" addition works for one or two other templates, but you would have to experiment to find out which - happy editing - Arjayay (talk) 16:14, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Blacklisting

Hello Arjayay, thank you for the kind thanks. I see you are probably much more well versed in the ins and outs of wikipedia than I am, even though I have been editing a long time I don't really dive into the hows of doing things and I avoid the technical processes as much as possible. Are you familiar with the blacklisting process. I know I have reverted https://govtjobseeker.com multiple times in the past, for me to find it would be difficult I believe it is time to blacklist this site or at least create a bot to remove it from new users.--VVikingTalkEdits 13:52, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Viewmont Viking - the process is fairly simple - see Wikipedia:Spam blacklist - but note "Compelling evidence of a problem should be given when requesting a page to be listed (preferably by giving diffs)."
You seem very good at giving edit summaries, so if you go to the bottom of "Your contributions" and click on "Edit summary search" you get to that page - put "Spam" in the search box - then the bit many people get wrong - under "Restrict to namespace" you need to put the ", ," for mainspace (click the box and you should get a drop-down) After "submit" you may have to wait several seconds, but it will give you your last 500 edits with "Spam" in the edit summary- if you need more there is a "next 500" at the bottom, Given what is being spammed, you should be able to spot the likely articles in the list - (Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, and you knew all this already) - Good luck - Arjayay (talk) 16:10, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you this is great information. When I have a chance I will pull the information and request the Blacklist. Thanks for your help. Kind Regards, --VVikingTalkEdits 16:17, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Pls add citations (7,8,9,10,11,12) under a single efn template if possible. PrinceAnand2003 (talk) 12:55, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi PrinceAnand2003 - I'm not sure that would be particularly useful. Ref 7 is used with 5 + 6, not the others, Ref 8 is used on its own, Ref 11 is used twice, and 9,10,11+12 are used with 13, The other problem with Template:Efn is that many editors {me included) don't really understand them, causing problems when making subsequent edits - Arjayay (talk) 13:38, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Professional Vaping

Hello, I am Erik Hutchinson. I saw an article you posted about Professional Vaping. I would like to suggest an important edit and would be appreciative if we can add more information to the article. I am the person who started professional Vaping in 2014. I designed and manufactured the world's first "Competition Mod" under the brand name AmeraVape Technologies. The world's first "Professional Vape Competition" was held in the Ameravape Technologies warehouse in Vista CA on September 20th, 2015. It was reported on bu the Atlantic Magazine of New York. I have all resources to provide you to prove this claim. Please message me back so we can update your article. Thank you! Erik Hutchinson (talk) 14:46, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Correction... September 20th, 2014 was the date of the first Professional Vape Competition. Erik Hutchinson (talk) 14:47, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Erik Hutchinson I certainly did not post an article about Professional Vaping, and have no interest in the subject, I suspect you may be referring to my removal of a spare "a" at Cloud-chasing (electronic cigarette) ?
From your post, it sounds as if you may have a Conflict of interest, and may be trying to promote your product, or competition? and who are you referring to as "we"? - Arjayay (talk) 15:23, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Amber Midthunder

Hi. Can you please fix Amber Midthunder’s birthday? Her correct birthday is April 26th 1997. I am her manager’s assistant at Corner Booth. She is currently doing interviews and some journalists are getting her birthday from your site. We have contacted the journalists directly as well. Coconut12345oil (talk) 19:42, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello Coconut12345oil, please put new posts at the bottom of talk pages and add a title.
As "her manager’s assistant at Corner Booth" you have a Conflict of interest so should not be editing that page, and you must make a paid editor declaration before making any more edits.
The addition you keep making is totally unsourced, it needs to be sourced to a reliable, Independent source, not your website, a press release or an article based on information you have provided. As it currently stands, there is no Date of Birth in the article, as the "alternative" DoB was unsourced/unreliably sourced as well.
Unfortunately, the dates of birth of many actors and musicians are false, often altered by their agencies - I had a friend who was 2 months older than me, until he became a top 10 musician, when he was suddenly 3 years younger. - Arjayay (talk) 09:38, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for adding category to my newly made article Popatlal. I request you to please add more categories at Popatlal page and I want , whenever someone will search this article 'Popatlal' it have to appear under this article title - ( Indian TV fictional character) or (Fictional character).I don't know how to do this. That's why I am requesting you. Kundan Ravindra Dhayade (talk) 19:04, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

sorry for poor English. In India, we've 6 classical languages (Sanskrit, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Odia & Marathi). But unfortunately, only because of political reasons Pali, Kannada, Bengali, Maithili, Nepali, Kashmiri didn't become classical languages. There is none for lobbying for Pali, in which the Tripitak & other Buddhists texts were written. They thought, Pali isn't the religious language of Hindus. At most few lakhs of ethnic Nepalese lives in India. Kashmiri became obsolete for extensive use of Urdu among Kashmiri Muslims. & you should know that Kashmiri Hindus were driven out of there forefather's land by Yasin Malik's men in 1990s. Hindi speaking colonialists want to suppress Maithili speakers. Maithili isn't an official language of Bihar government. But surprisingly it's an co-official language in Nepal. Indians thought Maithili to be a dialect of Hindi. But actual truth is that it's a totally separate language. Nepalese know that. You should know that there is almost 10% Bengali speakers in India. Very ancient language, dates back to the late Gupta ages. But again unfortunately, because of anti-bengali establishment in the state of West Bengal, our economy totally ruined in the last 73 years as of 2020. Bengalis also became politically insignificant in a democracy for their fertility rate<1. You can see how Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh, Naida, Bhuvaneshwar flourished during the same era. শৌমেন মান্না (talk) 11:57, 2 April 2020 (UTC)

What's wrong with this edit? Rafat87 (talk) 16:44, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Rafat87 firstly, please don't add a new post inside a section about a different topic, put it at the bottom, and add a title - it may be easier to click "Add topic" in the tabs at the top.
What was wrong with this edit was:-
  1. it was totally unsourced
  2. it clearly contradicted the existing figure which was taken from the official "Population and Housing census 2011" (table 23 on page 13 of 627)
All information added to our articles must be sourced from reliable sources which must be cited, to the information can be verified.
Please do not make unsourced additions or changes in the future - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 17:13, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi BlackCaesar123 - assuming you mean This edit, I removed an external link added into the body of the article - as per the first line of the lead at Wikipedia:External links "they should not normally be placed in the body of an article." - Although your edit summary on this page says "Added a recording to the page of Sergei Rachmaninoff in the external links" it wasn't in the "External links" at all, it was in the "Media" section, which is part of the body. Damn, I thought I you had cured me of the 'the the' habit through your eagle-eyed efforts in the past. There's always one that slips through unnoticed. I suppose that The The must be a constant source of mild annoyance to you.

I noticed just now that you wrote the article about the song which contains "Three five seven nine, on a little white line", but in those innocent days of yore I always thought it it referred to the stretches of paint between the cats-eyes. I never realised it was by that T. Robinson bloke until just a few minutes ago, and now I understand. Learn something every day, eh? MinorProphet (talk) 03:41, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Saurabhgurgaon (talk) 09:15, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi Saurabhgurgaon, I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but, as explained at WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES, primary schools are not usually deemed notable enough to have their own article. - Arjayay (talk) 09:21, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

I am saying that this school is primary level school of government of rajasthan it is not private school that I am give you source of newspaper or any other information ok sir Saurabhgurgaon (talk) 10:35, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

I realise that. As explained at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Article_advice#Notability, unless there is some particular reason why this school is notable, on a national, or international, scale of importance, the school does not merit its own article, and the article will be deleted, or redirected. Is there anything particularly important or special about this school? - Arjayay (talk) 10:55, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Moreover, if you are paid by Milos Bikovic, his agency, or anyone else connected to him, you are deemed to be a WP:PAID editor, so you must make a paid contributor declaration before making any further edits.

Handsome Nell

The spelling is 18th century. Inverted commas cover that section of the stanza. Thank-you. Rosser Gruffydd 18:10, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi Rosser Gruffydd - I checked the spelling before making the alteration. Of the first 10 hits in this search - which is for "your" version of the spelling in the quotation, i.e. "berance" - 9 of them use "brance" and only one uses "berance" despite that being the search term.
The word derives from Old French remembrance, from remembrer, so that was the early spelling - albeit that spellings were rarely consistent. The misspelling appears quite recent, presumably based on people assuming it derives from remember, rather than the original source. Arjayay (talk) 18:25, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank-you. The inverted commas indicate that it is a quote by the author, Robert Burns. It comes directly from his own holograph. Rosser Gruffydd 18:58, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Vandalism by Kami2018

Hello, I'm writing this message to you to draw your attention to activities of one of the users who goes by the name kami2018. This (kami2018) account engages in war edits. I have observed that whenever any user reverts his edits or makes changes to the edits he has made such as in the case Bangash or Ahmadzai (wazir clan) Kami2018 not only reverts them but also uses rather an aggressive tone in info bar. For example he made an edit to Ahmadzai (wazir clan) writing that '[this tribe] lives on border between Birman valley and Kurram valley' even though the source explicitly mentions that Ahmadzai were originally based in Birman valley. You can check the source by typing in Ahmadzai in the search bar & download the doc. You reverted that edit of kami2018. But this is one example of which you're aware. He has done the same to the page of Bangash tribe. According to the attached (Iranica encyclopedia) reference they were settled in gardez in Afghanistan until 10 CE. Afterwards they migrated to their current location in Kurram valley. But because it was changed by an IP citing the reason that the source mentions Gardez,(which it does, please look that up) and that 'Gardez' was removed by 'Saladin1987' (now a banned user), Kami2018 (who, it appears, previously operated under the username 'saladin1987') reverted the edit. Kami2018 continues to use WP platform to promote his own personal opinions, which are by any account biased and obviously nationalistic (anti Afghan and pro Pakistan). He randomly removes 'Afghan' "Afghanistan" and Iranic peoples" and other such terms related to Afghans/Pashtuns/Afghanistan from articles and inserts 'Pakistan' even if the doesn't mention Pakistan. Furthermore, many of his edits as I have checked are reverted and he has been warned already. I dont know who to reach out to so I'm writing here. (because I dont know the technical aspects of using WP which is why I haven't formally joined this community.) I request you to PLEASE look into this and take an action! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.135.47.93 (talkcontribs) 17:01, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Speling

Dear Arjayay, Thanks for spotting my double word on the Fulk FitzWarin article. There is plenty more to be done there. Quaere: in your Userpage, "I dislike" section, you say you don't like "incorrectly spelt articles". Can the past participle of the verb 'to spell' when used in this way really take the strong form, rather than the weak form "spelled"? Is not spelt properly the name for hulled wheat, as I (also an East Anglian) hully surmise? Perhaps this is the deliberate mistake on your Userpage alluded to in the headline banner? Are you, in fact, Lobby Lud, and do I get my £5? yours appreciatively, Eebahgum (talk) 23:10, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi Eebahgum - it is deliberate, as per your section title, but you are not the first person to comment, so sorry, no prize.
Someone even changed the spelling for me, but they were American and they were latter indeffed.
However, the first definition of spelt in Wiktionary is "(chiefly Britain) simple past tense and past participle of spell"
I deal with definite spelling mistakes and double words, but I don't get too wound up about certain proof reading issues, such as short horizontal lines.
Hopefully, grammar will continue to evolve, and the users less pedantic - such as about starting a sentence with hopefully. And another thing ….
Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 08:59, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Wrong information about kukri

It's khukuri not kukri. If you convert this (खुकुरी) you'll know the proper spelling. And it originated from nepal not india. Gurkha who are originally from Nepal, they've been using this weapon from 100's of years ago. Thus, making the originating place of Khukuri- Nepal. Please do a proper research and correct the wrong. Vijay Raj Gurung (talk) 19:45, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Kukri originally "khukuri" is a lethal weapon mainly used by Gurkha soldier who are originally from Nepal. Gurkhas does serve in Indian army and British army but still they have their own indentity and are regarded as Nepalese throughout their service. Thus, making khukuri used by Nepalese and originating from Nepal, not India.

In your publication of kukri, you have stated that its originating place is India which is absolutely wrong. As like gurkhas and this unique knife used by them, both are from Nepal, you can't just take the pride of our nation. Especially in this time of border dispute between these two countries. India has been cunningly taking lands of Nepal without nation's notice and your this kind of edit is totally unacceptable. This creates more friction between two countries. So, i request you to change it.

Piece of advise, please do proper research before publishing or editing any content. Your publications does play huge role in informing readers.

Hope you'll understand. Vijay Raj Gurung (talk) 19:29, 14 May 2020 (UTC

Vijay Raj Gurung - as has already explained at Talk:Kukri The spelling is as per the article title - this is the English Wikipedia and we use the Commonname in English, which is kukri. - Arjayay (talk) 07:35, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

I agree but it's also true that pakistan has occupied the Indian territories. Why are you guys afraid when we write the word occupied in the place of Pakistan administered? ABHIMAN 19 (talk) 08:52, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

@Arjayay:@ABHIMAN 19:We are not afraid it is just that it violates the neutrality, it's just that wikipedia follows neutrality, occupied may sound insulting to Pakistanis but administrated sounds neutral that's the only reason and for the fact being it may sound true that it is occupied. But you may add that Pakistan Occupied a area of India under a topic that deals with the dispute like Kaskmir Dispute but you need to have a good source and use the art of writing in such a creative way that it may sound neutral. Mausoleum of Galla Placidia

Hi Arjayay. Could you check this article: Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. Someone completely spoiled it. --Petar Milošević (talk) 16:20, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi Petar Milošević - I'm not sure what you mean by "completely spoiled it" - It is a subject I know nothing about, but the article reads well to me.
An experienced editor added detailed and important information, based on reliable academic sources, and in doing so increased the references from 4 to 13, many of which are multiply-cited. They also questioned some of the earlier statements/references, as can be seen at Talk:Mausoleum of Galla Placidia
If you are unhappy with what has been added/amended, you need to post at Talk:Mausoleum of Galla Placidia or use the editor's talk page, explaining your concerns. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 17:16, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Maybe something new is in. Do you see same as me, all words where "citation needed" are boxed ? So a lot of text in enboxed. Description 2nd (or 3rd with Infobox) photo is strange. --Petar Milošević (talk) 17:45, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Yes Petar Milošević - these were unsourced statements in the December 2019 version, prior to the recent improvements, where only 4 statements in the whole article had sources - whereas there are now 35 sourced statements.
The recent editor had an option - simply remove all the unsourced statements, or as he has done, point out that they are unsourced, so a reader knows that they may, or may not be, correct. Most editors simply add [citation needed] at the end of such an unsourced statement, whereas this editor has used the more advanced method of specifically identifying the unsourced statement, and, in some cases, commenting upon this on the edit page. If you don't like the boxes then the options are either 1) remove the unsourced statement, or 2) provide a citation.
Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:23, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Thanx, obviously new stuff. I will correct image caption. --Petar Milošević (talk) 18:27, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Kukuri

Hi, Please help change the term from Kukuri to Khukuri. Also, please take the part that says Indian Subcontinent as it is not necessary. RainiDD (talk) 01:13, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

No RainiDD, as per when you asked at Talk:Kukri. The page was semi-protected to STOP both those changes. which are against Wikipedia's policies and guidelines - Arjayay (talk) 08:49, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

The word khukuri is Nepali word and kukri is not particularly mentioned as which language in wikipidea. So just by saying the page is semi-protected we can't cause vandalism. SubodhSubedi123 (talk) 19:00, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

SubodhSubedi123 - we are well aware that khukuri is the Nepali word - that is why it is the fourth word in that article. However, it is NOT the English word, which is kukri - and as this is the English Wikipedia, we use the English word, kukri - Arjayay (talk) 21:00, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Updated with AndhraPradesh Capital details

HI Arjay,

Amaravati is captital of andhra pradhesh. I have not updated any thing wrong over here. hyderbad is just history. we can not tell Hyderbad as capital for AP any more.

your old brother has asked you to stay in his house for 10 years. that does not means you have to stay there for 10 years. you will move out of your brother house as soon as your own house is ready. it does not make sense to use hyderbad as capital. We should not give wrong impression to external world that Hyderabad is captial of AP. What ever it is Amaravati is capital of AP. What ever govt has plans, let us update once plan come to implementation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manforap (talkcontribs) 12:55, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi XxPixel WarriorxX - as can be seen from the page history, and in the talk archive there has been considerable edit warring/discussion about this.
Personally I think the best suggestion was made by another editor, now in the talk archives, "India-born Canadian actor"? He was granted Canadian citizenship. And since India doesn't allow dual citizenship, even if he is residing in India, he isn't Indian by law.
So, legally, the one thing he isn't is Indian, which is what multiple edits on that page have been to add. - Arjayay (talk) 10:44, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Removal of Indic scripts

The reasoning for the avoidance of Indic scripts in the MOS seems archaic and is a decicion made close to a decade ago. It seems regressive and unnecessary, please let me know why this is still being followed and how the guidelines can be updated. Debitpixie (talk) 09:56, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi Debitpixie
Language-warring was a major problem in India-related Wikipedia articles - this has significantly reduced since WP:NOINDICSCRIPT, which has evolved over a long period of time.
Previous attempts to amend/overturn it have been highly unsuccessful and I cannot imagine anything has changed. You are welcome to try and change it, but until you succeed, deliberately breaking this consensus, as you did at Indian Space Research Organisation, with a declared intent to EDITWAR, is clear vandalism - Arjayay (talk) 10:31, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Unsurprisingly, Move pages without seeking consensus has already begun. It includes major cities like Coimbatore, Triplicane, Vellore, Dharmapuri etc. What can be done to tackle this? Can we get a move protection on these pages? Thanks--Ab207 (talk) 18:25, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi Ab207 - I wish I could help, but Wikipedia will not protect things in case they are vandalized/altered against WP:COMMONNAME, it will only protect things that are being vandalized/altered against WP:COMMONNAME. That said, changing the name of 1018 places all at once is unprecedented even by Indian standards, and checking each one of them is going to be a nightmare. Let me think about this - Arjayay (talk) 19:26, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
I see. I'll bring to your notice if there is any any active vandalism going on.--Ab207 (talk) 19:35, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
Hi Ab207 - I hope you don't mind, but I've copied your post, and my initial reply, to Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics where it will be seen by more editors involved in Indian topics. I suggest any further comments/ideas you may have are made there. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 19:42, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
Sounds good. No issue.--Ab207 (talk) 19:49, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi all, Why cannot the names be changed as it is going to be the official names of the places after this. Every people and officials are going to use the name only. People around can know the original official spelling. What's wrong in it. I don't know what I am asking is correct or not, I just to know. Dineshkathiresan (talk) 18:37, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

We use the common name (i.e., the generally accepted name) of a place rather than an official name. Once reliable sources predominantly begin to use the new name, only then will Wikipedia change over to it. See WP:CN. --regentspark (comment) 19:28, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
