Transgender rights movement

Hello Aron,

Thanks for your contribution to Transgender rights movement. I reverted most of the copy-paste of the article from URJ, and copied it to the article's Talk page, for reasons explained there, and replaced it with a much briefer statement; I hope you'll find that acceptable in lieu of the longer word-for-word version.

I see also that you attempted to make a change a couple of years ago, which ended up getting reverted; and here we are, and kind of the same thing is happening. I hope this won't discourage you, as Wikipedia does have a lot of rules that are a little hard to get on board with, but the most important ones are few, and involve sourcing everything you write with citations to reliable sources to ensure verifiability. So far, so good; you've done that.

There is something else that you need to know about if you're going to be editing here (and I hope you will) which involves writing about yourself or organizations that you are a member of or closely allied to. That is covered in Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline. I'll add the boilerplate about COI below in a separate section after this one.

There are two kinds of Talk pages that you should know about: User talk pages, and Article talk pages. This page, is a "User talk page" where editors can communicate among each other about various topics about your contributions, and also the mechanics of using Wikipedia, Q & A, and other things. An "article Talk page" is an adjunct to every article on Wikipedia, where editors can discuss how to best improve a particular article: here are some examples: Talk:Isaac Schneersohn, Talk:Brooklyn Museum, Talk:Transgender rights movement. It is at this last talk page, that I have discussed your addition to the Transgender rights movement article.

Hi Aron, don't worry about the wording of the stuff above; it's standard boilerplate that goes out to everybody in this situation. The reason for it, is to ensure that people reading Wikipedia can rely on its reliability, and Neutral point of view, so I hope you view it as a good thing, as do I. If you do want to write about URJ, you can still do so, but you should probably disclose any connection you have with URJ, here on your talk page, and on the article talk page.
