Alfonso Pinzón, Agony, etc.
editHi @Artemiisa, you are currently engaged in and edit war with me on the Alfonso Pinzón page, and soon, the same thing will happen on the Agony page, as I review your edits. You are new to Wikipedia, so rather than edit warring and insisting that you are correct, you should demonstrate restraint and humility, abide by the platform's policies and guidelines, and generally have a collegial and respectful attitude toward your peers—this includes not making edit summaries such as "reverting needless and unsupported edits", which are sure to ruffle feathers rather than being useful to readers or editors. If you disagree with changes or reverts another user makes to your edits, the correct approach is to avoid edit warring and instead to discuss your disagreement on the relevant talk page. If you do not follow this principle and insist on belligerently restoring content you believe to be correct, in opposition to the disagreement of other editors, your account may be blocked from editing. - Hi,@Revirvlkodlaku I am new to Wikipedia with this account, indeed, but this discussion is not about seniority—it centers on factual accuracy versus disinformation. The information you have posted is inaccurate and not supported by factual evidence. To support my corrections, I have provided 18 press sources which you can verify yourself. I am strictly adhering to Wikipedia policies. Please note that no individual acts as the 'Wikipedia Police.' Could you please clarify your authority on this topic, or your familiarity with this person’s or the band’s biography? Understanding your perspective could help me comprehend the basis of your persistence in presenting incorrect information. Thank you. Artemiisa (talk) 14:37, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Artemiisa, your response is a mix of humility and misplaced claims, such as your mention of seniority and Wikipedia policing. Again, I urge you to consider just how fresh you are to this platform and how this may influence the way you go about editing and interacting with other users. The fact that I've been on this platform much longer than you doesn't grant me seniority but rather experience—there is a major difference between the two.
- In this edit, I removed content that isn't followed by a supporting reference, such as Pinzón place of birth, genres he plays, record labels, etc. I filled in all the citations you left as bare urls, I replaced content you removed without proper explanation, removed non-objective words like "legendary", made copy edits, fixed improper markup, etc. If there is specific content I removed that you believe was properly referenced, or alternatively, if the article includes non-factual content, then let's talk about it on the relevant talk page. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 16:50, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- @RevirvlkodlakuHi. Understood and acknowledged. I will provide notes in the 'talk' section as per your request. Thanks. Artemiisa (talk) 20:29, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Minor edits required
editHi @Revirvlkodlaku Here are my edit comments:
1. Born: Pinzon was, indeed, born in Barcelona, Spain. While this may not seem significant, he has mentioned it in several past interviews Alfonso Pinzon, place of birth it is publicly displayed on his personal Facebook profile.
2. Genres: ‘heavy metal’ has been properly edited to ‘death metal’ and ‘thrash metal’. However, Pinzon has also been a permanent/recording member of black metal Battle Dagorath (Los Angeles, US) and hardcore band Sin Salida (Colombia). Thus, 'extreme metal' would be the appropriate label for him, serving as an umbrella term that encompasses all the relevant genres.Alfonso Pinzón, extreme metal drummer
3. Career: Pinzon co-founded Agony with Andrés Jaramillo, as expressed in several interviews throughout their career. Alfonso Pinzón y Andrés Jaramillo, fundadores de Agony
4. ‘Legendary’ Term: I don’t mind eliminating the term ‘legendary’ when referring to Venom, even though they are, indeed, legendary in the metal world. This is not hyperbole, as we are discussing the band that ignited an entire genre with their classic album “Black Metal”.
5. Inquisition Albums Production Credits: Pinzon did not co-produce both albums; he was the sole producer, as stated in both album production credits. Alejandro Corredor served as the engineer and mixer for “Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm”, and Arthur Rizk assumed these roles for “Obscure Verses for the Multiverse”. Alfonso Pinzón, Inquisition's producer
6. Festival del Diablo: Pinzon is the sole creator of the Festival del Diablo in Colombia. The involvement of any business associates or festival workers is not relevant. Alfonso Pinzon fundador del Festival del Diablo Festival del Diablo, Alfonso Pinzón
7. Discography: It is important to include Agony's complete discography, which features the single “Cortejo Funebre” (2012), and to credit Pinzon as the producer on the albums. This includes the Inquisition albums as well. Credit should be given where it's due.Cortejo Fúnebre, producido por Alfonso Pinzón
Most of Pinzon's links/interviews are in Spanish, as his career has had the most impact in the Latino music world. Please let me know if any of them need clarification.
I hope the information provided above is satisfactory and that we can proceed with making the necessary edits based on factual and accurate information. Thank you. Artemiisa (talk) 21:05, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Artemiisa, thanks for the info and the links. Please add it to the relevant talk page(s), and I'll address it tomorrow. Cheers! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 04:06, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

- I just want to note that the current edits have broken or unrelated links to the content. I’ll gladly fix them once you address the notes that I sent you. On the other hand, we also need to fix and polish the Agony wiki after the back and forth. Looking forward to your comments so we can move forward. Thank you. Agony
editHello @Revirvlkodlaku
Alfonso's info was sent, I would like to go now through Agony's history based on Pinzon’s career info, I also can provide all the links to support the correct information. Thank you. Artemiisa (talk) 09:51, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Artemiisa, I think we are misunderstanding each other. What do you mean by "Alfonso's info was sent"? Where was it sent to? Did you email me?
- Please stop tagging me on your user talk page; I've asked you several times now to take these discussions to their respective talk pages:
- Talk:Alfonso Pinzón; Talk:Agony (band); Talk:Dia de los Muertos (band). Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 13:47, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
Incorrect information
edit@Revirvlkodlaku Hello again! I just noticed a profile changed the information about Agony's foundation, even though the reference link, on the first paragraph says Agony es una banda de metal extremo originaria de Colombia, fundada en Bogotá en 1993 por el guitarrista Andrés Jaramillo y el baterista Alfonso Pinzón. There is no evidence that Robayo and Jaramillo where high school friends and Robayo came up with the band idea, that's false information and Robayo just can't take credit of Pinzon’s work which is his legacy in the Colombian Metal Industry. Please let me know what can we do about it. Thank you. Artemiisa (talk) 18:56, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Artemiisa, please clarify what you are specifically objecting to. This article mentions Robayo as one of the founders of Agony, and this one mentions that Jaramillo and Pinzón were university friends. Which detail do you think should be changed?
- Btw, this should be discussed on the Agony talk page, not yours. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:35, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Dia de los Muertos
editHi @Artemiisa, I've gone ahead and restored some content you had added to the Dia de los Muertos page, including one image. When someone comes along and makes a whole bunch of changes that don't improve an article (including attempting to add the same image twice, improperly), it's much easier to revert wholesale and ask them to make more of an effort next time. I've now done the work for you, but I encourage you to try harder next time. Here are some pointers:
- Familiarize yourself with correct wikimarkup so that you don't make unnecessary errors, as you did with your attempt at adding a Wikimedia link to the infobox instead of just the image file.
- Be careful not to make basic errors like adding the same image twice within an article—check your work properly before publishing.
- Be sure to properly cite all newly added content.
- Try to avoid using peacock words such as "prominent", "notable", "major", etc.
Cheers! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 00:52, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello! Thank you very much, I'm still learning and I am helping musicians to ensure their legacy and work are not be forgotten, so that's why the articles might sound very passionate, but I'll take your advices for the future. Thanks for checking my edits, about the pictures, they were 2 different photos, with different line up on different times.
- Have a nice weekend! Artemiisa (talk) 07:29, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
