Land art

• I've added his name to the Land art article based on him being profiled in the New York Times Magazine and CBS Morning News which is significant. The notability tag needs to be left in place until the article on Denevan is sourced, but the sources appear to be available according to his website (which has scans of several articles in internation magazines). freshacconci talktalk 16:12, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Jim Denevan

Hi. Please add reliable, secondary sources to the article about Jim Denevan. We can't have articles that don't establish notability, otherwise we'd just be another myspace/facebook/resume. The article has to have secondary sources (ie, sources that are not connected to the artist financially or personally).

Hi, as a supplementary note, you can check Wikipedia:PSTS#Primary, secondary and tertiary sources for a full explanation of what these terms mean. In summary, secondary sources are produced by people at least one step removed from the subject. As previously stated, when it comes to establishing a person's notability then key facts normally need verifying beyond the person's own words or agent/publisher's statements. Newspaper and magazine articles are often a good secondary source. Fæ (talk) 15:46, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi. Please see Talk:Jim Denevan for specific details. I've had to remove the majority of the content, as it was simply copy&pasted from elsewhere. The content copied from The Daily Telegraph constitutes a copyright violation, and the content copied from various Facebook pages is potentially a copyright violation, but more importantly it is written in an inappropriate tone (see WP:TONE for an explanation). It's not all bad news though, I did find another article about him in The Daily Telegraph archives, so I've added that to the list of potential references.
