Thanks for uploading File:Tahr.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Edit summary

edit

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.--220 of Borg 16:59, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Edit Summary 2

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary with every edit. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, even if it is very brief, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.

The edit summary appears in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! --220 of Borg 20:07, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Cut and paste moves?

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Kuruvattur a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen.
I have re-directed both Kuruvattoor and Kuruvattor pages that you created on 25 August back to the Kuruvattur page that has been on Wikipedia since 2008. I included the additions you made to the infobox, such as the location map, and climate data.

 * If you have a problem with the name of the 'Kuruvattur' page, discuss it on the articles talkpage, don't just make an arbritrary decison to move it. 220 of Borg 21:00, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm 220 of Borg. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanad, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You have changed figures without a source, and without an edit summary. Detailed descriptions of course contents are also unnecessary, especially when unsourced. 220 of Borg 21:31, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Sitush. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Kidave, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

We do not usually accept machine-translations, nor do we accept Wikipedia articles as reliable sources (see WP:CIRCULAR). I did a search for the Kidave name and, really, it is not notable in itself, which is why it was redirected to the Nair article. I hope that this makes sense to you. Proposed deletion of Pottamuri

edit

Hello, Atholim. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Pottamuri, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. - Kiwuser (talk) 06:02, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
