Atkenos
Nicholas Kenos left Epirus in Northern Hellas (Greece) in 1924 and came to Australia in the hope of beginning a new and better life for his family.
He would be later joined by his brother Gregory and much later by Sotirios and others before his eldest son George (1927) and much much later George's son Terry (Eleftherios) would come to Melbourne after distinguished service in the Korean conflict where he was wounded in action.
By the mid 1950s virtually all of the family were living in Melbourne Australia. Nicholas and his wife Katherine, along with her brothers et al the Sdrinis family, several of whom who subsequently became noted lawyers or doctors, as well as active in the community.
Greg's family, notably son Peter. Sotirios, notably son Louis and daughter Andromahi (who married Tassos Demitriadis/ Demis). John remained overseas where he changed his surname to Christopoulos, after his father Chris, for business reasons. His son Andreas and daughters came to Australia along with the rest of the Kenos family.
Working hard across many areas, this family grew and eventually could name Langwarra Wines, Ojay Fashions, Kenman Kandy plus much more amongst their successes. But others became accountants, doctors, lawyers, educators, business persons... and simultaneously most became active in different aspects of community life.
George had a son Terry (with Nicki Lollis), who had Ange and Sophia. Younger brother Spiros (with Barbara) had Archilleas, Nick and Georgina. Youngest son Heracles (with Kondillia) had Nick, Peggy, Maria and Katherine. daughter Adriana married John Scopas to have Minas, Phillip, Con, Fredericki, Fofo and Lucy.
