Hello, Aubreydosky, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hi - I wanted to let you know that your content was removed and that the editor left an explanation:

rv; "essentialist" has a very specific meaning in this context; the fact that it was once based on language is important; and the "physical or social categories" is well-sourced and reflects the article. Quoting National Geographic for the main description in the lead feels like it's giving it undue weight, too. And per the article, the dividing line between race and ethnicity is not always so clear-cut.

Before re-adding anything, it's important that you resolve these issues. Given that this article is held under sanctions, it would be better to discuss the changes on the talk page as well, before adding material back into the article. If the consensus is to leave it out, then it's best to leave it out. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:44, 5 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
