Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:41, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, just to clarify, it's not that you're not leaving edit summaries, you are, it's that they are not very helpful. An edit summary is meant to describe what you've done and/or why, so that others watching that page or reviewing its history later on can see what's happening. If you leave the same edit summary "Created a new user" each time, that doesn't tell anyone anything, especially when it in no way even relates to what you've done. Please make an effort to leave meaningful and correct edit summaries. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:45, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
PS: Did you actually read this, because you're still doing it? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:44, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@DoubleGrazing: I've just blocked this user as a sock. A previous user who created similar articles and updated their user page with the same kinds of unhelpful summaries was blocked for not changing their behavior. I strongly suspect this is the same person, but I can't remember who that user was. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:01, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for letting me know, @UtherSRG. The thought occurred to me, too, but a quick search of the SPI archive didn't find anything. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:13, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@DoubleGrazing: Indeed. I believe this is their first sock. The prior account was blocked purely for this behavior. I can't even remember if I was the blocker or if someone else did the block. I only remember the behavioral problem. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:24, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Article and Template

edit

to Make a Template called Template:Taxonomy/Velox try to make the higher classification: Velox belongs to the Tribe: Liturgusini. then rank it as a genus. give a link: Velox (mantis)|Velox. then use the extinct Parameter then type in: no. then make it Always displayed. then make the article: Velox (mantis). @Jpgordon: Can you fill out a pro forma SPI please and then tag me in it or list it here? I blocked based on my memory of the master's behavior. It would be good to have a record I can point back to. - UtherSRG (talk) 17:07, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
