Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Eve 15:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- With regard to your comments on the Talk:BBC Radio Collection page, the link is to free material, but that doesn't make it non-commercial - it's still acting as a taster advert for the site. Plus it requires registration to actually get at the audio, which breaks the Wikipedia guidelines on sites requiring registration. You might find it useful to have a look at the guidelines on conflicts of interest too. It doesn't look like a very carefully watched talk page, so if nobody else comments and you want to check my interpretation of the policies you could try requesting a third opinion. Hope a bit more explanation of my deletions has been helpful, and welcome to Wikipedia. Don't let a minor quibble over external links stop you contributing other useful information like you did on the Jeff Harding page. Eve 18:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
