Really enjoyable article. Nice work! Found it through DYK. Julia Rossi (talk) 00:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Aw shucks. Well, its been interesting exercise trying to wikipedia-fy a current event. Hope more info comes out post-court case. Though Greenhalgh's already off the radar of course, I'm still curious, esp about the forgeries. Like what people will do with them. Aukker (talk) 05:33, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Possibly he'lll be in a genre of his own like other forgers whose forgeries becomes collectable in their own right. Funny old system, aint't it – keeps on commodifying itself n providing more work for you, lol. Julia Rossi (talk) 05:12, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sweet! -yeahbutnobut.. the prompt for the DYK was changed. So this bit: "displayed for a decade by the Art Institute of Chicago and toured to the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam" became..

...that The Faun, a rare sculpture by Paul Gauguin, displayed for a decade by the Art Institute of Chicago and the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam was actually a fake by British forger Shaun Greenhalgh?

which is unfortunate, because it wasn't actually on display in Amsterdam for that long, just for a few months during the exhibition. I understand why this was changed: "toured to" is rather clumsy; perhaps it should've been "exhibited at." No big deal, but I thought I'd let you know. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
