Hi, I deleted the page since (a) it largely promotes its subject matter, as opposed to being an encyclopedic article about it, and (b) it copies verbatim a website which has a Copyright symbol at the bottom. Geeks Without Borders, by contrast, does not seem to do either of these things. Having said which, if you feel it does not merit inclusion on Wikipedia, you will have to submit a request at WP:Articles for deletion and state your arguments there, trying to persuade other editors. But note that the fact that the organization does not exist any more is not really in itself a reason to delete the WP article on it – otherwise we would have to delete Enron, Whig Party etc. It Is Me Here ^{t / c} 09:41, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi. If the Poppy Project is notable (which is determined according to Wikipedia's notability guidelines), then it's a valid topic for a Wikipedia article. But a few notes:

1. The article is promotional in tone. Its purpose is obviously to interest people in the project. This isn't surprising given that you've copied the text from the project's home page. Encyclopedia articles must be objective, neutral. An encyclopedia article doesn't refer to "you" and "we".
2. An article doesn't contain commentary about the article. The justifications you've written shouldn't be there. If you want to communicate with readers of the article about your intent, that goes on the article's Talk page.
3. From your commentary, you seem to think that you need permission to write about the project. You don't. What you do need is permission to copy content from elsewhere. Your content is copied from the project's home page. That could be OK under certain circumstances, but otherwise it's a violation of copyright law. If the project were willing to permit text from its website to be copied to Wikipedia, then there is a mechanism for that. However, in this case, it would still come back to that particular text being promotional, so we can't have it here regardless of whether the project has given its permission.

I saw your post on the article's Talk page before the article was deleted. "Promote" doesn't mean "sell". You can promote your favorite movie star, a piece of legislation, or participation in an event, all without profit motive. hum ... i do not try to make a promote article but an encyclopedique article about a fact. This bot is real and the world first 3D printed.

I have contact the author, he will give me a text a bit more encyclopedic that should better correspond to you wish.

You keep repeating that the bot is real and that it's the first 3D printed one. No one has said that it isn't.

I looked at the page on the project website where you said you found "permission" to create the article.
