There are two issues. First is that James was a member, so it is reasonable to list her as among members. If a disclaimer is required that she resigned her membership, that can be noted, but it doesn't change her status.

Second is verifiability. Unless the membership database is publicly searchable, it is very difficult for other users to verify the claim that James is no longer a member. (Even if she's no longer listed, it's hard for the absence of a listing to act as evidence that she never was a member.) Accordingly, the stronger evidence is with the newspaper report that she is (was) a member rather than a self-published source that has no listing of her. —C.Fred (talk) 20:41, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
