Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

there is absolutely no reason why I should have been blocked. As a fan of Selena Quintanilla (who is a latino icon) and fan of Selena y los Dinos and Ricky Vela, and a writer I am an authority on the subject and know so much about them, and your coverage of the most Iconic Mexican singer in american history is incomplete. Your block saying that I was paid (which I am not) with zero proof is not only wrong, it sets back our culture and erases us from your whitewashed wikipedia. I have spent hours finding sources for all of my edits and will be taking this erasure to social media because what you are doing is suppressing POC from being represented the way white people are represented on your website. You should be ashamed of yourself. None of my edits were done without significant sources and your accusation that I was paid is not only incorrect but it's completely unfounded. I deserve to be unblocked. Latino voices deserve to be heard! Chrisneonproductions (talk) 23:50, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I Confirm that I have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements. I'm clearly stating that I have been in NO WAY COMPENSATED for any of my edits!!!!! I have zero affiliation or conflict of interest with the subjects I have written about! I am just a latino wanting our people to be represented! In the future I intend to declare this every time I make an edit and continue to provide ample sources so that I am not baselessly accused again! Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. I am willing to take your word for it that "Chris Neon Productions" is not some sort of publicity or marketing company and have reduced the level of block to one which just requires changing to a more acceptable username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Orange Mike | Talk 00:21, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's not completely unfounded, your username sounds like it's that of a company. Your race is also immaterial to that, we don't know the races of the people sitting at the computer editing. No one is suppressing anything. I note that the blocking administrator altered the block to be only for your username, if you propose a new username, that will resolve the matter. 331dot (talk) 00:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Allow me to give you some free advice. Threats of running to social media with a grievance are often made here, but rarely if ever gives the result that those making the threats want. If we gave in to every instance of threatened blackmail, this project would be impossible to maintain as everyone would make threats. Instead of running to tell the public about something, please try to work with the rest of us in a civil manner, that usually resolves most problems. 331dot (talk) 00:40, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you @331dot, I am sorry I typed it out feeling extremely upset and understand that you're all just trying to do your job so will try not to engage when I'm feeling reactive or upset on here in the future (good general rule for being on the internet really). I appreciate the second chance.Avocadofan13 (talk) 00:58, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
