Is there a section when you use twinkle for a request for speedy deletion that has the reason as "not notable"?
- The closest would be criterion A7, but that holds only for very specific subjects and has a standard of "No indication of importance", where even a credible claim of importance that doesn't rise to demonstrated notability prevents using the criterion. Huon (talk) 01:33, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

How can you put a redirect on a page that is already redirected? Anytime I type mvta, I get Minnesota Valley Transit Authority. I would like it so that on the top f the page it says, "For the Transit System in Martha's Vineyard, see..." Can I have some guidance?
- I suggest you make MVTA into a "disambiguation page" which would say "MVTA may refer to:" and then give links to the two articles. 1981 Peach Bowl is an example. JohnCD (talk) 16:19, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Is it possible to request multiple deletions at once? Can you request a template deletion?
- Yes and yes. If the template doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion, then WP:Templates for discussion is the place to request deletion of templates. There's no limit of pages whose deletion you can request simultaneously; deletion discussions such as WP:TFD or WP:AFD usually allow for joint nominations of related pages. I feel like I might already know the answer to this, but am I allowed to use information from a personal e-mail to a company? And if I can, how would I cite it?
- No, because WP:Verifiability requires reliable, published sources (my emphasis). The point is that a reader should, in principle, be able to check the reference,. JohnCD (talk) 15:43, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I don't know why I am having such a hard time with this, but I have no idea how to edit the size of a box in a wikitable WHILE having color too. Any guidance?RES2773 (talk) 20:56, 7 September 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- Help:Table gives information on how to add color to cells in a table; that shouldn't interfere with the size parameters. Is there a specific table where you encountered the problem? If you can poit out what exactly you want to change, I can take a look and provide more specific advice. Huon (talk) 20:36, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
- yes, I have looked at help:table before. Although I have been on Wikipedia for quite a few months now, I am still getting used to things. I have tried getting information from there, but every combination I try to use is ineffective. I am trying to make a list of routes for a transit agency, and I want to create a color-coded system. I think the actual colors in the table will be fine, but I am also looking to make a key using a wikitable. If I don't put size in, the box will be so small it wouldn't really even be usable. Is it possible that you could give me an example of a formula I can use? Thanks for all of the help!RES2773 (talk) 20:56, 7 September 2015 (UTC)RES2773
How about this?
Red background, 40em width | Blue background, 30em width |
---|---|
And something in yellow, height of this row set to 100px | But maybe a plain background also is nice for a change? |
This is a rough example of how size parameters for rows and columns work (edit the section to see the code). I could give more specific advice if you builit an example table as far as you can go and then point out how you want to change its behaviour. Huon (talk) 23:30, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Do you know if I would be able to upload this image to the commons? It was leaked, and has since been taken down on it's original page. I do not know if I will be able to directly contact the owner. I would like to add this to the M9 (railcar) page. Thanks!
- That is not a freely licensed image, for all I can tell; it should not be uploaded to the Commons. It does not seem to fit the non-free content criteria either since we can expect freely-licensed images of the M9 to become available soon. Huon (talk) 21:25, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello. If you visit my sandbox, you'll see that I am making a table for a bus route list. However, when you try to sort the list by route number, the first thing it takes into account is the first number. For example, it would be 1, 120, 134, 20, 212, 3... Do you know how to fix it? Thanks RES2773 (talk) 22:20, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- I've run into this problem before. This page suggests using
data-sort-type="number"
, but I haven't gotten that to work consistently. What has worked for me, and you can see demonstrated in Huskies of Honor—a featured list—is for every number with a small number of digits that the longest number, add<span style="display:none">[number]</span>
. For example, with the numbers you listed above, do the following:
Raw numbers | Wikicode | Numbers with code |
---|---|---|
1 | <span style="display:none">00</span>1 |
1 |
120 | 120 |
120 |
134 | 134 |
134 |
20 | <span style="display:none">0</span>20 |
20 |
212 | 212 |
212 |
3 | <span style="display:none">00</span>3 |
3 |
Let me know if that works for you. –Grondemar 02:19, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Grondemar: Thank you so much! It worked great. The only thing is i had to move things around to accommodate the letters in the beginning of some of the routes. Thanks again. RES2773 (talk) 04:34, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

I am verrrrry confused as to what I need to do to fix this. If you go to Provo Central (UTA station), You will see that that station is the terminus in the infobox, which is correct. That is correct. I recently moved the page from Provo (UTA station) to match what the official website says. If you go to, say, American Fork (UTA station), you will see that it is heading towards Provo, which is exactly correct. I do not want it to say "Provo Central". It saying "Provo" is great. However, when you click on "Provo" from the American Fork page (or any other station page for that matter), it sends you to the former article title, "Provo (UTA station", and redirects to "Provo Central (UTA station". Attempting to fix this, I went to Template:S-line/UTA right/FrontRunner to change it. I eventually, if you view the markup, put Provo=Provo Central, but it appears that it did not change the result. You can view the page history to see other variations of what I attempted to do. Is there a way to get this to say "Provo" in the infobox, but have the link be "Provo Central"? I am unfamiliar with this type of template and how it works, so I am seeking instruction and guidance. Thanks in advance for your help. RES2773 (talk) 01:16, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- You were most of the way there, but you needed to add a new line to Template:UTA stations to account for the non-standard name of the Provo station since it no longer fit the generic "<name> (UTA station)" format. Primefac (talk) 01:52, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

List of Bus Routes in Nassau County
Please stop changing the n48/n49 listing to something that is incorrect and hard to understand. Why do you keep changing it without a valid reason? The n48 is two separate bus routes now (since 1/18/15).
If you revert my edit one more time without a valid reason I will report you for vandalism as you haven't given any reason for reverting. I had this happen once before and the person reverting repeatedly ended up getting banned. --SkipperRipper (talk) 22:29, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- Please look at what I changed. I did not say that they were the same route, I just fixed what it said earlier, that the n48 went from hicksville to jericho, and the n49 went from hempstead to hicksville. I apologize that you think I am just trying to be annoying. I am just pairing them like the n73/74 and the n70/71/72. RES2773 (talk) 22:35, 10 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- The n48 is TWO SEPARATE ROUTES. Look at the timetable! Hemp to Hicksville (B'way Mall) "all service times" and Hicksville LIRR to Jericho Quad "rush only". Where are you getting your info??????
- Also, please leave CW/CCW AM/PM on the n47 and n2/8 like it is for all other loop routes (see n62, n57) and like in all the other articles on NYC-area buses. Unknowledgeable users may not understand the CW "arrow" between the terminals in the listing. Thank you. --SkipperRipper (talk) 22:48, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- We crossposted there... I have more to add. I don't think you're being annoying, but reverting edits without leaving a reason is poor Wikipedia form. Always leave a reason for an edit. If you have a question or aren't sure, edit the list's talk page! --22:48, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- I do have to say you were correct, I was getting my information from the schedule, but I read it wrong. The first time I fixed it is because it said the 48 only went to Hicksville. Can I also recommend expanding the notes to all three rows into the 49? It just seemed repetitive. I'm sorry for the confusion, you are a great editor and I should have talked with you first! RES2773 (talk) 22:59, 10 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- Thanks for the kind words, I learned the hard way too. :) It won't work expanding the Notes to three rows (I actually thought about this recently, too), because the first three notes are n48-specific, and I agree it sucks that the repetition is right there in the next row, plus, to append "n48" to the other two notes would also look repetitive (and worse-so than the n49 LIRR note?) . Also note the n48/49 PDF schedule map never got updated after the n48 split. And nice catch on the n80/81 and getting the Hicksville combined! --SkipperRipper (talk) 23:09, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, and I do have a few questions for you. I have tried here as well as suffolk, westchester, and nyc to try to combine terminals, but do you know why they are put on different sides anyway? Also, on the n24, I know you know that I changed the east meadow both way arrow to am/pm arrows. there is one reverse peak trip in one direction, but is that enough to have a double arrow? Also, just as a separator type thing, I put the S110/Suffolk clipper (btw, I can't find anywhere where it is actually called the s110, it's only the clipper, even in the schedule) with an express banner. Should have I? RES2773 (talk) 00:29, 11 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- Additional note: A while ago I changed the n87 to a discontinued route because of the NICE summer service announcement consisting of only the 88. Can you verify this with my source? RES2773 (talk) 00:35, 11 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- For the (combined) terminals, I am guessing they are in different columns because that is the way the schedule is written. Note if you swap terminals for a route, remember to reverse the "Streets Traveled". I'm not so sure that the double arrow is good for the East Meadow n24, because the reverse peak is one trip, but technically it is correct. I'll have to look at the S110 thing, it's called that because it runs on NY Route 110. Also, with the arrows, I was never a fan of them. When I "table-ized" the Chittenden County Transportation Authority page, I left the arrows out and simply labeled the columns with "Terminals". Yes, I saw there as no n87 schedule so I would assume this route is discontinued. And(!) I figured out a way to make the Notes work on the n48/49, but using Chrome browser on iPad, it looks wrong. Whew! --SkipperRipper (talk) 01:32, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- I completely understand what you mean about the S110 thing, there is even a picture that verifies it, but it is never stated anywhere. I keep trying to fix the nassau stuff because I live here, and I just randomly came upon CCTA. Honestly, you have a lot more experience than me son i'll leave it up to you. I also like what you did with the notes, but I think the n48 no sunday service could stay in the top box :) RES2773 (talk) 02:05, 12 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- I am also thinking about either asking for creation or creating a page about the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority and Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority, I was surprised there weren't ones already! RES2773 (talk) 02:16, 12 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- LOL we keep responding without indenting (my bad)...one more note - it is OK to repeat wiki-links on these style pages, because these are not "encyclopedic" entries, but rather a simple list. The reverter editor I mentioned above reverted out so much stuff (Bronx and Queens bus routes lists - notice no duplicate links in the tables under "terminals" with few exceptions), I just about gave up. Those are the only two articles this guy had a problem with, although like 10+ articles are written this way. The multiple links make for a better user experience as the user doesn't have to dig thru the article to find a link that may be way back up the page. --SkipperRipper (talk) 21:17, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure that centering the "see N2 above" text on the N8 row was a good idea. Remember, part of being a good editor is editing the article for ease of reading, which makes for a better user experience! Thanks again! --SkipperRipper (talk) 19:11, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
Hello. Just so you know adding a "Article being proposed for merging" is redundant when the article is currently being considered for deletion.--Zackmann08 (talk) 21:39, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- Would it be smarter to just have it deleted than merging? Could we still put information on the ontario page about the fd? RES2773 (talk) 21:42, 11 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773
- My point is that there is no need to have 2 separate conversations. The outcome of an Article for Deletion can, and often is, to merge. What I'm saying is that you should bring it up on that page, not start a new conversation somewhere else to discuss merging. --Zackmann08 (talk) 21:48, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you have blanked your AFD for Rata'ii for some reason. Speedy deletion nomination of List of TriMet bus routes
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of TriMet bus routes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Just letting you know I updated the speedy on that page, I was researching the claims while you tagged it. One of the people named there was one of my mother's high school students, so I knew part of it was real but there's no such team as the "Ohio Rattlesnakes" and both named people play for other teams so I switched it to "hoax." A look at the creator's talk page makes it look like he's a total fake too as there seems to be no such company. JamesG5 (talk) 01:41, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

Pages about early Islamic figures
Dear Res brother! I have created three pages for Ali ibn Ismail Syed Faateh and Syed Qaaf they all are belonging from the family of Muhammad the Islamic prophet, and are forefathers of millions or Sayyids living aroud the globe. There forefather was Husayn ibn Ali the Martyr of the battle of Karbala. Kindly please review the deletion and keep pages. We will be very thankful to you. Thanks brother.
- @93.168.13.135: I will let you expand upon those pages. I may have been to quick to mark those pages! I will check back in a few days. You can contest the deletions to stop them. RES2773 (talk) 05:09, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

- @Mrmattiet: Ummmmm, no? Kind of. Well, you're right about the no life part. Your article was not up to the standards a Wikipedia article should be. It wasn't written as one, there were no references, and it's not that notable. I am sorry, but personal attacks won't work either. You're allowed to contest a deletion. Hi. I've declined your speedy request as it was not a valid criterion at CSD. 'Needing a rewrite' is not a reason for deleting something, and the criteria at CSD are limited in their scope anyway. The article could do with improvement. I've added a couple of tags for a start, to encourage participation by gnomes. Peridon (talk) 11:34, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- As reviewing administrator, I deleted the article but not for the reason given: We do not delete articles because they "should be rewritten to comply with manual of style. Should not be written like a guide.." If they need fixing, we fix them. But we do decline rticles when they are obvious hoaxces, as was this "rare breed of bear, normally found in Manchester..."
- More generally, Please read WP:Deletion policy and WP:CSD before making further nominations for deletion. Your deletion nomination for Yvette Francis-McBarnette was totally inappropriate. Someone with a NY Times obit is always considered notable at WP.
- On the whole, I think it would be advisable for you to stop reviewing new articles until you have more experience writing and know the guidelines better. It is extremely important for WP not to discourage good new editors. DGG ( talk ) 18:53, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers
Hi BRES2773,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
User group: New Page Reviewr
Hello BRES2773.
Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.
New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, RES2773. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

New Page Review - newsletter
- Breaking the back of the backlog
If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
- Second set of eyes
Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.
- Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote
With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.
Coordinator election

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!
But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

London Bridge incident
Hi RES2773. I removed the tag you added to London Bridge because it's not a news or current affairs article. There's a dedicated article on the very unfortunate incidents at London Bridge and elsewhere in London. The London Bridge article already has a brief line and link to that article. New Tappan Zee Bridge
Howdy! I think it's probably best, from an encyclopedic standpoint, to wait until the renaming is signed into law before putting the Cuomo information into the lede. It's reasonable to put the information into the section later in the article about the evolution of the bridge's name, but I think it jumps the gun to trumpet this at the top of the article until it's a completely done deal. Thanks for your thoughtful analysis! - Julietdeltalima (talk) 16:20, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, please see WP:GEOLAND. Also, schools may not be tagged CSD-A7, and for other Afd, Not really a notable topic. is not a proper policy or notability guideline. Either an article is notable or it isn't. As you received the New Page Reviewer right based on a bot search, it is possible that you are not actually ready to be patrolling new pages. File permission problem with File:Josh Lafazan speaking at campaign event.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Josh Lafazan speaking at campaign event.jpg, which you've attributed to Online from joshlafazan.com. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
- Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!
Outreach and Invitations:
- If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with:
{{subst:NPR invite}}
. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.
New Year New Page Review Drive
- A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
- Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.
General project update:
- ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
- The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!
The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.
Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:
- The total number of reviews completed for the month.
- The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.
NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
- We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!
New Year Backlog Drive results:
- We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!
General project update:
- ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
- Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

ACTRIAL:
- ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.
Paid editing
- Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies. A further discussion is currently taking place at: Can a subject specific guideline invalidate the General Notability Guideline?
Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled
- While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.
News
- The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

ACTRIAL:
- WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.
Deletion tags
- Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.
Backlog drive:
- A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
Editathons
- There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
Paid editing - new policy
- Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
Not English
- A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.
News
- Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
- The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

Hello BRES2773, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- June backlog drive
Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.
- New technology, new rules
- New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
- Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
- Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
- Editathons
- Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
- The Signpost
- The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.
