Bajutsu
I'm new. Please excuse my failing to leave notes of what was changed on my first two edits. I have eyed the Veterinary technician article for some time and have felt that since I have spent over 23 years (less a few sabbaticals) in this field that I might be able to contribute significantly. Thank you to all those who have contributed before, especially since getting started is the most challenging part.
While I may have added alot of verbage. The changes are nonetheless minor.
I have added distinction between veterinary technicians and technologists, introduced the term Animal Health Technician which is still used in Canada and for historical reference. Added mention of the CVMA. Made clarifications to the education section necessitating some rearranging of sentences (no affront intended to previous contributors). And added a paragraph addressing specialty certification in the US with links to the specialty academies. For the sake of clarity I have separated out Veterinary Nurse from Veterinary Technician though they share the same job description.
More contributions are needed for the Veterinary Nurse stub and information from the Canadian perspective is needed to flesh out the Veterinary Technician article.
Thanks again,--Bajutsu (talk) 09:17, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

I have created the three redirects below followed by the beginnings of a stub. I however can't seem to quite figure out how to activate these items. I also have a .jpg image to upload to an article (I am awaiting permission from the source), I will also however need help with this including how to properly credit the source.--Bajutsu (talk) 12:21, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Simply type in the name of the article in the search box on the left and click "edit" at the top. If this is not available to you, it is because your account is not "autoconfirmed", that is, it is not yet four days old or does not have ten edits. Once these criteria are satisfied you will be able to edit pages. GARDEN 12:47, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Citations in Article
editBajutsu, the Wikipedia:Citation templates have the format of citations with examples. I find it useful to copy one of the examples, fill in the details, preview the template without the ref tag to make certain it is correct, and finally enclosed the citation template with the ref tag.
By the way, my oldest daughter is studying to be a Vet Tech. When I reference the article, I noticed that it had been vandelized, so I now keep it on watch. Since the article is in need of citations, I will also try to add citations as I find them.

logo usage
edit{{help me}}
I have a logo to upload to an article and I have even obtained permission via e-mail for this usage but I can't seem to find how to properly credit this image and cite permission.--Bajutsu (talk) 23:49, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- If it's a logo, we have a specific rationale we have {{logo fur}} and {{Non-free logo}}. Those are generally best for logos. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 00:07, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- If you've gotten permission by email, you'll need to forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org and tag the image page with {{OTRS pending}}. Once your email is received and reviewed, someone will replace that tag with a notice confirming that we have permission for the image. Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:10, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:Veterinary technician logo.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Veterinary technician logo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 08:30, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Vtlogo.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Vtlogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Your note at Wikipedia talk:Requesting copyright permission
editHi. I happen to watch that page (I work on text copyright problems) and responded to your note there, but I believe that I may have resolved your problem after investigating. If the issue that brought you there was File:Veterinary technician logo.jpg, your friend does not need to release the rights to this. Logos can be used under Wikipedia's non-free content policy under fair use. You addressed part of this with the "fair use rationale" suggested by User:TenPoundHammer above, but didn't put both templates in place. I have corrected this and added a rationale defending its use.
However, I think you will need to reuploaded (you can do it under the same name) a smaller version in order to conform to policy. As I said, I work on text issues, so haven't got much specifics to offer, other than to say that we do have a specific forum for asking advice and help with media copyright issues at WP:MCQ. Sorry for your frustration, and I hope that I've been able to help in some way. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:45, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Citing personal communications
edit{{help me}} I have obtained clarifying information via e-mail from an official representative for an organization addressed in an article that I'm editing. How do I properly reference this type of information (i.e. personal communications)?--Bajutsu (talk) 03:25, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
- That is very interesting. Forwarding the email to WP:OTRS might be a start, though I'll leave the tag up for other helpers to come by. NuclearWarfare (Talk) 03:34, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, forwarding the email to the OTRS system is a good start. You can't reference personal communications in any article... see WP:Reliable sources and WP:Verifiability. Killiondude (talk) 05:54, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Ambu bags
editHi there,
I have, for the moment, reverted your edits to bag valve mask and ambu (company) relating to the term Ambu bag being an acronym. The company themselves claim a different etymology for the name on their websites, and I can't seem to find many reputable references to it being an acronym (mostly just web 2.0 answers sites, that sort of thing). I'm not sure whether maybe this is an example of a backronym which has been invented after the name itself. It would be good if you could find some references? Please stop!
editIn your rush to change things to your liking, you have managed to break the structure of the articles, and this is going to take some time to sort out. Please, please refrain from making any moves for the time being whilst I try and sort the article structures out, otherwise we wil end up with a complete mess. OwainDavies (about)(talk) edited at 08:49, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- OK, i think the article structure is now stable, with the exception of the talk page for paraveterinary workers currently being misplaced at paraveterinary workers in north america, and I have requested that move be made. You will see links to all the daughter articles now in the main page, but they'll all need formatting work, copy editing and their appropriate external links moved across. I will continue copyediting the main article to be more internationally generic for all paraveterinary professions, and then look at expanding the daughter articles.
