Speedy deletion nomination of Sprout Creek Farm

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sprout Creek Farm requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. TheLongTone (talk) 14:45, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Field Apothecary

edit

Hello Baynard,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Field Apothecary for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. JamKaftan (talk) 16:00, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Although the source is too much for the article to be speedily deleted, as it stands it falls short of the usual inclusion criterion, which is explained here. If you need to get an article into Wikipedia for the course, it would behoove you to understand the inclusion criterion, lest the article be deleted and you fail the course. If you have any questions, please ask. WilyD 17:02, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Drafts pages

edit

Hi Baynard,

Thanks for the pages you've been adding. Do you know that you can keep drafts in own userspace, or put them in the Drafts namespace? I think this might be a good idea for the pages you're creating, because Wikipedia pages need references (not just links to an official webpage, but Wikipedia's idea of references). If you have any questions, or want some help moving pages for now, let me know! Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 16:02, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message, Baynard. Here's what I would suggest: create articles in the Draft space. I've just moved Hearty Roots Community Farm as an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Hearty_Roots_Community_Farm Then students can work on them at their leisure, and if/when it's appropriate, they can get moved to the article namespace. What do you think?
Also, are you in touch with other educators (e.g. via the education program)? You might get some helpful suggestions. Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 19:36, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Field Apothecary

edit

Hello, Baynard,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Field Apothecary should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Field Apothecary .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, JamKaftan (talk) 18:48, 31 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Baynard. I "voted" Keep in that discussion, and I have just given some more reply to you there, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Field Apothecary. I'll "watchlist" here so I might see any new messages here. But feel free to contact me at my Talk page if you think I could be of any help. Good luck, hang in there! It is sort of hard to get started in Wikipedia, you just have to keep explaining yourself and keeping trying, and you'll learn how to get everything done (and hopefully to avoid deletion processes being started on your articles). Cheers, --doncram 22:36, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • P.S. Oh i see notes above suggesting you use the "Drafts" space, which is fine. In my suggestion over at the deletion discussion, i was suggesting using "Userspace", but I guess "Drafts" is better. Cheers, --doncram 22:37, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • I'm having a workshop on Wednesday (on campus here at Vassar College) so hopefully the students will be making regular substantive updates in the near future.
That's great. Hope the workshop goes well! Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 12:32, 8 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Edible Hudson Valley concern

edit

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Edible Hudson Valley, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:39, 8 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Edible Hudson Valley

edit

Hello Baynard. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Edible Hudson Valley".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Edible Hudson Valley}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK! bark with me! 23:02, 22 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Field Apothecary

edit

The article Field Apothecary has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article from an ill-conceived class project: No reliable sources for this local establishment, --just PR and their own publications and a local newspaper

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
