Edit-warring

edit

Bayrak, this edit was not acceptable.[1] You removed a citation to a reliable secondary source, and replaced it with a map, a primary source which has already been criticized at the talkpage as not being an acceptable source.

In order to try and avoid any future problems, could I please ask you to stop editing the Al-Khwārizmī article for a week? You are welcome to participate at the talkpage, but please do not engage in any reverts or other edits of the article itself. If you want a change to the article, please bring it up at the talkpage, and then if other editors agree, they can make the change. Thanks, --Elonka 05:18, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

ok I will stop... but it is not easy to see false informations added to the article --Bayrak (talk) 05:29, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Do I really consider myself a Muslim

edit

Hi again . I'm Iranian and my ethnicity is Azeri . My father's ancestors were from khalkhal and my mother is from Tabriz.
By the way , for what you asked here , I will write some Ayahs of the holy Quran for you :

--Alborz Fallah (talk) 21:53, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

for you :) --Bayrak (talk) 22:50, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your good intention .I know Azeri Turkish to some extent and use it sometimes in the family and society , but anyway the term "Persian" is used interchangeably with "Iranian" both in Arabic and English , that means although I'm Turkic in some aspects , I can be considered Persian in other grounds(like language and history) and I like every face of my identity : being Muslim ,Azeri and Iranian. And yes , I knew that Bayragh means لواءوراية in Arabic and درفش و پرچم in Persian (flag) --Alborz Fallah (talk) 04:52, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
And for the holy Ayah , Anyway , all of us , and I mean it , all of us have to be aware not tobe included in the Tubeh 97 and 98 .

History of Arabs in Afghanistan

edit

Do you know anything about the History of Arabs in Afghanistan? --Enzuru 04:44, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, but unlike other countries, there are lots of prominent Arabs in Afghanistan. The first president of Afghanistan was an Arab. Do you know anything about these people? I think most came during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. --Enzuru 21:40, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for engaging in an edit war at 'Adud al-Dawla. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Elonka 03:43, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Bayrak, edit-warring at the 'Adud al-Dawla article, as you were doing, was not okay. You were reverting the article, but you were not talking at the talkpage. Because of this, I have blocked your account access. After the block, you may only edit under certain rules:
  • If you edit something, and someone reverts what you edited, do not revert back. Instead, talk about things at the talkpage. If you revert without talkpage discussion, your account may be blocked again.
  • If multiple other editors disagree with you, and no one agrees with you, you must stop editing the article, and then only participate at the talkpage.
Do you understand? --Elonka 03:54, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why am I always to blame..? the other editor removes the references and No one prevents him from vandalism.. --Bayrak (talk) 14:19, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

There was no vandalism. There was a content dispute. Please do not call it vandalism, as that is disruptive.
It is not about the reference, it is about the reverting. You made four reverts on this one article, even though other editors disagreed with your change.
When there is an edit war, do not just keep reverting. As soon as one revert happens, you must start discussing the problem at the talkpage. But you did not discuss. In fact, you never posted a single message to the talkpage, you just kept reverting.
Wikipedia has a rule called WP:3RR. This means that no one is to revert an article more than three times in 24 hours. You reverted four times, so you were blocked.
In the future, you must bring up controversial edits at the talkpage. Don't just keep reverting.
Thanks, --Elonka 18:50, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
