SL Bhairappa
editHey Deepu, Can you please confirm that Bhairappa's name is spelled "Bhyrappa" and not "Bhairappa". Because as I have seen, it is spelled as "Bhairappa" everywhere. If it is "Bhyrappa" instead, we have to do a redirect.Gnanapiti 21:43, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey Gnanapiti,
It is indeed spelled as Bhyrappa. I have met the author himself on several occasions and confirmed the fact. You can also look at the copyright information (written in English, typically at the backflap of the second page) in any of his novels and cross verify. I shall make the redirect. Thanks.
- Hey Deepu. It would be great if you find some photograph of Bhyrappa, which we can use here in the article. The photo I uploaded was deleted because of the copyright issue.Gnanapiti 19:13, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Yoga poll
editHi! There's some discussion on whether using "asana", "yogasana" or "yoga asana" as the article title. If you are acquainted with the subject, you are invited to drop your opinion at Talk:Yogasana#Opinion Poll on this article's name. Davin7 10:19, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Please take a look and feel free to involve in any of the areas that are of your interest. Thank you and happy editing! - KNM Talk 15:49, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi
editHello Deepu,
Welcome to the Wiki Project on Karnataka. It is really good to see your enthusiasm in editing articles related to it. I am hoping that you will have a long association with Wikipedia. I see that you have made some edits to the Mysore article. While edits are generally helpful and improve an article, some of the edits that you have made may not conform to Wikipedia guidelines. I would suggest you to read WP:CITE, WP:NPOV, WP:OR and WP:PEACOCK which will give you some insights on how to write a good article. I may have to make some changes to your edits in Mysore article, so that they conform to those guidelines. Also please be aware of WP:3RR, WP:SOCK and WP:NPA which indicate things that editors should stay away from. You should also be aware of WP:VANDAL. Please take your time in going through those. But please continue your edits, you can always ping me in case you need any assistance. BTW, whenever you post any message to any other user or in a discussion page, you are expected to sign your name, so that the users will know the person who has posted the message. You can do this by entering 4 tildes after your message like this: ~~~~ and once you save the message, your name and time stamp will automatically appear -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 11:02, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Response
editHi Deepu,
Here are some issues I see:
- The heritage of Mysore endures till date. While this might essentially be true, it is something that needs to be proven. It is difficult to prove unless you can come up with a citation that says that the Mysore heritage as it existed centuries ago endures even now.
- When his torments grew unbearable, Goddess Chamundeshwari engaged him in a fierce ten-day battle and slew him. This is mythology. Things like torments grew unbearable and ten day battle are myths and cannot be proven. The best way is to keep mythological details as little as possible and use them only in context. -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 15:15, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Little context in Parva novel
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Parva novel, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Parva novel is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Parva novel, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Parva
editHello Deepu,
Can you add more info to your Parva (novel) article? I will also try to add details. If we have sufficient info, may be we can nominate it for a Did you know? entry -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 05:57, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- You can find the DYK rules here. I will also add some info to the article today night. -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 07:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- It is better to upload the book cover image to Wikipedia. But care should be taken that the accompanying fair use rationale and licensing tag should look something like this: Image:Hitchhiker's_Guide_(book_cover).jpg. Thanks -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 08:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of M Hiriyanna
editA tag has been placed on M Hiriyanna requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Beano (talk) 08:15, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
NowCommons: File:Peak Near KGuni.jpg
editFile:Peak Near KGuni.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Peak Near KGuni.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Peak Near KGuni.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 23:04, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
