Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because (your reason here) --BeachBeauchamp (talk) 04:08, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

I understand your concern regarding the potential perception of the Wikipedia article as self-promotion. However, this article serves a broader purpose in documenting significant contributions Beach Beauchamp has made to the LGBTQIA+ community and other areas, which are historically important.

Beach Beauchamp, beyond his advocacy work, is also a notable descendant of Jim Beauchamp, the professional baseball player, yet he has not been mentioned in Jim Beauchamp’s Wikipedia article, despite his important role in the family’s history. While Beach’s brother Kash was a Major League Baseball player, both Beach and Kash appeared on HBO’s Coaching Bad. On the show, Beach confronted his brother about the poor treatment he received from the family due to his being gay, although much of this was edited out of the final version. These family dynamics, while personal, contribute to the public discourse on how LGBTQIA+ individuals often face discrimination within their own families.

Moreover, Beach’s involvement in landmark LGBTQIA+ legal cases is a matter of public record. His case was instrumental in the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and in the passage of the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act. Now, he is working on advancing the philosophy of circular economies to address ecological concerns.

This Wikipedia entry is not about promoting one individual but about preserving the historical significance of Beach Beauchamp’s contributions, especially in LGBTQIA+ rights and sustainable economic practices.

Please read WP:SOAP and WP:NOTABOUTYOU. Wikipedia is not the advocacy platform you're looking for.-- Ponyobons mots 04:23, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
The notability criteria are the sole determinants of whether a person is deserving of inclusion on Wikipedia. Also, notability is not inherited from having a famous relative.
If you are this person, please don't attempt to write about yourself (explained further at WP:NOTYOU and WP:PROUD). Writing about yourself is an inherent conflict of interest, and you are not capable of being an objective judge of your own notability. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 06:30, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
