British Amateur Television Club

edit

Hello and good luck with the revamp - however, a word of caution. It's starting to sound less like an encyclopedia! Phrases such as "our award winning magazine" f'rinstance (note the "our" too - think that you're seeing it from a committee member's point of view - remember to write it in the third person and NPOV).

Suggest you re-read and tweak, before someone else is tempted to....

Your most welcome to upload your new logo Image:Batclogo100.gif in place of my Image:Batc.gif by the way....Zir (talk) 09:36, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've given your opening para a bit more more prominence by removing its extra BATC title, so moving it above the contents box. Also tweaked your logo to be central and removed the (health) warning....cheers...over & out...Zir (talk) 10:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the help and comments, I am very new to this and feeling my way along. not even sure if this is how I reply?? Beamcurrent (talk) 11:30, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, you can reply on my talk page if you want, but best to discuss BATC stuff on that article's talk page - but I didn't want to raise the above stuff in public to start with.
Do you want to upload your new logo in place of Batc.gif - otherwise some bot will just delete it - more concise than Batclogo100.gif ....Zir (talk) 20:05, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Logo moved

edit

Hello, I've transferred your logo Batclogo100.gif to Batc.gif (easier to remember, and helps preserve previous versions) and added © BATC to it and its talk page - and reverted logo on British Amateur Television Club‎ to Batc.gif. Trust this meets with your approval - no doubt a bot will appear and remove Batclogo100.gif in due course - Regards...Zir (talk) 07:41, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Batclogo100.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Batclogo100.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:15, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have done a bit more fine tuning of the text and added some references in the hope of making it more useful. I feel more satisfied with it now and would be pleased to read your comments and suggestions.

Thank you for your help with the logo, I really could not grasp the procedure for logos and your help is invaluable. It did not take long for the bot to remove the orphaned logo. regards Beamcurrent (talk) 20:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

A few minor tweaks done - revert anything that you don't like! These things are usually "a work in progress"...Zir (talk) 22:24, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Just spotted yet another wikilink to put in — no doubt there'll be more. From now on I suggest we continue any discussion on the BATC talk page for everyone to see...Zir (talk) 09:09, 17 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
PS: Thanks for contributing to the Monoscope and EMI 2001 articles too...Zir (talk) 09:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
