Hi Bearcat, this is an urgent message some user goes by the name of User:DiscantX has created inappropriate categories that are mistitled. For an example here are the St. Albert, Alberta categories that are inapproriately mistitled and all St. Albert, Alberta categories are all small category pro WP:SMALLCAT and WP:OVERCAT. The category Category:Bands from St. Albert, Alberta is an inappropriate title it would have been Category:Musical groups from St. Albert, Alberta, the Category:Media in St. Albert, Alberta only has one newspaper I have removed it will keep Category:Newspapers published in Alberta in Category:St. Albert, Alberta. Because Category:Media in St. Albert, Alberta has not enough media coverage. All radio and television stations are primarily located in the Edmonton market because St. Albert is paired with the Edmonton media market. The categories Category:Music in St. Albert, Alberta and Category:Festivals in St. Albert, Alberta only has one festival in St. Albert, Alberta. Both music and festival categories should have been deleted per speedy and WP:SMALLCAT. Category:Recreation and Parks in St. Albert, Alberta is an inaprropriate category there is no category that has the title "Category:Recreation and Parks in X" per an inappropriate category. Category:Crime in St. Albert, Alberta one has one category per small category. The other category Category:Businesses in St. Albert, Alberta is an inappropriate category. The category would have been named as Category:Companies based in St. Albert, Alberta. All categories cannot be titled as "Businesses". So could you speedy delete Category:Bands from St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Media in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Music in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Festivals in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Crime in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Businesses in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:School Districts in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:St. Albert Public Schools, Category:Sports teams in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Sports tournaments in St. Albert, Alberta, Category:Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools all the categories will be speedy deleted because of inappropriately titled and WP:SMALLCAT. But one category will be speedy renamed from Category:Sports in St. Albert, Alberta into speedy titled as Category:Sport in St. Albert, Alberta per C2A from Category:Sport in Edmonton and Category:Sport in Alberta by city. For my request please speedy delete all inapproriate categories and categories that are small category. A created category must warrant four articles or more. Could you talk to User:DiscantX to never create the categories that are inappropriately titled and never create St. Albert, Alberta categories via overcategorization. User:DiscantX has sent me a message. I want you to talk to User:DiscantX to never create categories that is inapprorpiate and per overcategorization and Small cat. This is an urgent message. I hope all of the will be speedy deleted and rename Category:Sports in St. Albert, Alberta into Category:Sport in St. Albert, Alberta per naming conventions. I hope you will resolve the categories ASAP. Thanks for your time and let me know as ASAP. Thanks. 2001:569:7C07:2600:F936:CC:F2B7:68A0 (talk) 02:58, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Hurry Bearcat, User:DiscantX is back online and have restored the inappropiate categories. I have remove it already and it is still unresolved. Please talk to User:DiscantX right now. Quickly before User:DiscantX approached me. 2001:569:7C07:2600:F936:CC:F2B7:68A0 (talk) 03:07, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
2001:569:7C07:2600:F936:CC:F2B7:68A0, I have tried reaching out to you about this and you immediately blanked your talk page. If you feel those categories could be named differently, for example, Category:Companies based in St. Albert, Alberta instead of Category:Businesses in St. Albert, Alberta, you may well be right, and I encourage such changes. But that is not what you are doing. You are moving all of these pages into the general St. Albert, Alberta category. And some of your mentioned categories do not fall under Small cat. For example, Category:Schools in St. Albert, Alberta. There are at least 30 schools in St. Albert. If some of these categories are underpopulated, its because the articles haven't been written yet-- which is a project I am slowly working on. I welcome you to help contribute articles to these categories, rather than declare that there is not enough content for them. Because trust me, there is. But not all of it has been written yet.  DiscantX 03:21, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Note: There is now a discussion on my talk page regarding this.  DiscantX 04:02, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Request Feedback on Draft:Dear Boy (Band)

I have added a significant amount more content to the page with a focus on increased quality of references to support notability of this band. This is my first full article from scratch and I would welcome any feedback. I recognize I've included a huge amount of references, and I'm open to cutting that list down .. I just wanted to make certain I could back up any of the documented statements with reference in case it was needed.

Notability qualifications which apply to this musical group (guideline referenced): 1. Subject in non-trivial publish works: BMI, Live Nation, KROQ radio 4. Coverage of an international concert tour: Canada with Psychedelic Furs (2019) and Mexico City Corona Capital festival (2019) 7. Most prominent of the local scene of a city: Selected as one of ten bands for KROQ inaugural Locals Only Fest and Vinyl album release in Los Angeles 10. Notable Compilation Album: Featured on KROQ Locals Only Vinyl Volume 1 release - selected as one of 10 bands through multiple rounds of voting in Los Angeles 11. Placed in rotation on a major radio network: KROQ-FM in Los Angeles

Thank you in advance for your help and feedback! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Contrary.Carrie (talkcontribs) 06:32, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Royal Toronto Museum

Hi Bearcat! I am trying to obtain an image of this superb relief from the Royal Toronto Museum for Wikipedia [1], for articles related to the Kushan Empire. Would you, by any chance have an opportunity to visit the Royal Toronto Museum one of these days, or do you know someone who could? (I sure won't be able to....). पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 13:02, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Not only do you take time to locate harder-than-average-to-find sources, you then improve the article with them. That is very, very cool. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 14:26, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Request on 20:15:52, 21 December 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Jro571

Jro571 (talk) 20:15, 21 December 2019 (UTC)

Greetings, Earlier today I submitted a revised version of my draft of an article for Wikipedia about Dave Getz, the long-time drummer for the San Francisco band Big Brother and the Holding Company, in light of the criticism to which my draft was subjected by Bearcat, a Wikipedia editor, who also advised me to study the "technical help" and "mistakes to avoid" sections of the Wikipedia guidelines for contributors. One specific defect to which Bearcat directed my attention were that the article was not reliably sourced well enough to demonstrate that Getz warrants a standalone biography as a separate topic from the famous band of which he was a member. I have now added a number of citations to published sources which I trust will correct that problem. These secondary sources are also independent of the subject (another objection of the editor to my first draft was that too many of my citations were culled from the subject's website). These include:

• The Guinness Encyclopedia of Popular Music. • An article in the San Francisco Chronicle specifically focusing on Dave Getz. • A Polish book on the history of the jazz club in Krakow where Getz was active in 1964-65 (an entire chapter of the book is devoted to Getz). • An article on Getz's drumming in the April 2019 issue of the magazine Modern Drummer. • A reference to Getz's production of an album by Big Brother from the website www.discogs.com • Several citations from Michael Spörke's book on Big Brother, a volume which deliberately departs from most published accounts of the band insofar as it focuses throughout on their accomplishments apart from Janis Joplin, particularly in the years after she left the band.

I am hopeful that this improved version of the article will pass muster with the editors of Wikipedia. I still face the technical challenge of making sure that the format is correct (and will greatly appreciate whatever assistance can be provided on this!), but so far as the content is concerned, I feel confident, and look forward to receiving some sort of encouraging news. - jro571

Good luck

Jason Mojica draft

Thanks for your response. I understand there was no malice in your cleaning things up, and I hope you understand I simply made a mistake in putting the article in the queue rather than just creating it straight away. You said, "I can't play favourites by treating some copy-pastes of unreviewed drafts differently than I treat others," but wouldn't it help reducing by one the epic queue of drafts by simply un-deleting the other article? Alternatively, can you move the ball forward on the draft? Forgive me if this seems complicated, I'm actually trying to reduce work for editors here! Thanks in advance.

I have more than two sources now, what do you think? at least 4 cover him in depth while others have significant mention of him.Ndołkah☆ (talk) 04:43, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
