Draft:Emanuel Admassu
Hi You had moved my article on Emanuel Admassu back to draft space citing that it is 'improperly moved to mainspace by its own creator without AFC review'. Since I am new to wiki I was not aware that it was improper for me to create a draft and then move it to article space myself. I didn't know that moving it myself was against any rules, or at least I could not find this written up anywhere as improper. I am sorry if I made a mistake during this process.
If you are available, it would be great if you can review the draft and see if you think it is notable enough at the moment to be moved to article space. As you can see, the subject of this article is a black architect and professor of architecture at an Ivy league school. Only 2% of architects in the U.S. are black and even less are given an opportunity to teach at a university. The statistics are very dire to say the least. In addition, historically magazines and museums have not been representing, covering or supporting black architects until BLM. For this reason there is an obvious issue on equity which is also reflected somewhat in the notability criteria on this platform. I just wanted to create some context around the accomplishments of this subject given the circumstances working in a profession which has not accepted or supported black creatives in the past hence making it difficult for them to be perceived as notable in comparison to their non black peers. Thank you for your time and let me know your thoughts please. Soupmaker (talk) 19:11, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Soupmaker
Un-PCR at Cimbri
I don't see signs of the original reasons for PCR anymore and it's been 3 years. I think RCP can handle it from here, can this be unprotected? Thanks! Sennecaster (What now?) 05:13, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- Adding Heart of a Dragon, despite it being fairly recent. It seems like the single purpose vandalism has calmed down, thankfully. This one is more borderline, but I haven't seen it at PCR once. Hatiras has not had any attempts at spamming again, so I think it also can be unprotected. Sennecaster (What now?) 22:57, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Third opinion
Hi Bearcat, if you have a moment, as a Canadian English speaker, you would be a great third [pair of] eye[s] to have a look at a difference of opinion between a South African English speaker (me) and an Australian English speaker (Perey) here. There is so much of this on the project that an individual case does not warrant making a big deal out of, so I would just like to hear another opinion. Thanks for your time. PS: Nothing to do with Canada/ SA/ Aus, just found it interesting that we are all from outside the UK/US monolith ;-) Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 14:50, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
Arab vs Arabic
I would have assumed Category:12th-century Arabic poets was a category for poets writing in Arabic regardless of ethnicity and Category:Arab poets was a category for poets writing in any language who were Arabs. Am I wrong? Srnec (talk) 00:30, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
Candidate notability
I was wondering if are interested in looking at my attempt to describe when a candidate might be notable. I am open to feedback with the hope that we can have some clarity before US campaigns begin in earnest later this fall for the 2022 elections --Enos733 (talk) 06:09, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

But there are just 14 footnotes here, and more than half of them are primary sources (self-published content on the school board's own website) or WordPress blogs that are not support for notability at all -- there are only six cites to real media here, which is not nearly enough coverage to deem her more special than other school board trustees, as literally every school board trustee on earth can show six hits of local media coverage
What you're saying is we can't have a page highlighting her work but someone like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alison_Collins gets to keep her page because of controversy and clickbait? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forgotmyusername1 (talk • contribs) 18:36, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Could use your opinion
Hi Bearcat,
If you have a second, I could use your help on an article I made - I think it passes GNG, but another user seems to disagree and has placed notability tags on it.
The article in question is Aquil Virani. My side - by my count there are 13 RS solely about him/his art, including those by Radio Canada/CBC Radio (x3), Cbc News (x2) Le Devoir, La Presse (x2), Yahoo, Global News, etc. I am open to the fact I might be wrong here and certainly I think the article could use improvement.
I would love your second opinion on this and I will defer to whatever you decide
Thanks! If you don't have time, no worries!
I would like to request undeletion of this article so that it can be improved. A thread on Wikipediocracy references the deletion and lists this NASA biography, this article on a naming after him that resulted from a contest, this Houston Chronicle obituary, and also this at LMTOnline (the other source listed is a blog). Thank you for considering this request; I think notability may be clearer now than in 2012, or the article as it was failed to cite what was available. Yngvadottir (talk) 03:46, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- (Response posted both here and to Yngvadottir's talk page) The article that I deleted in 2012 was not about a NASA scientist — it was about a Peruvian YouTuber who was "sourced" only to his own YouTube channel, and would be of no value to you whatsoever in trying to start an article about the scientist. Wikipediocracy needs to think harder sometimes about the fact that people's names aren't unique, so just because an article was previously deleted at the name of a notable scientist doesn't automatically mean the scientist was actually the subject of that article: sometimes it can be, and in this case it was, about a completely different person who merely happened to have the same name. Bearcat (talk) 13:39, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you anyway; like the poster over there, I hadn't even thought of that possibility, but that's the problem we're all stuck with, that most editors can't see whether a deleted article was even on the same topic :-) Unfortunately I don't start new articles outside my user space any more, so I hope someone else does and then if I can improve it, I will. Request on 13:47:03, 6 July 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by YNovakovic

Hi Bearcat,
Thanks so much for looking into the draft article I've submitted; Afripedia.
You have rejected the draft article and suggested I merge it with an already existing article: Afripedia Project. However, the subject of the article Afripedia I submitted and the already existing article Afripedia Project are not the same.
The already existing article Afripedia Project is an initiative organised by Wikimédia France, Institut Français, and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie and "aims to expand offline Wikipedia access in French-speaking Africa, and encourage Africans to contribute to Wikipedia".
The Afripedia article I have suggested is a completely other initiative, a documentary series, as well as a platform that aims to bridge the gap of employment of diverse talents in creative industries across the globe. It is also run by different people and it is an active project, 2010-now, unlike the Afripedia Project.
Please see this discussion page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Afripedia_Project
To clarify this ambiguousness, I have inserted the form indicating that the page should not be confused with Afripedia project.
I have resubmitted the article, please see if that solves the issue raised.
Many thanks,
User YNovakovic
