Hey, how goes. Thought I'd drop you a note about "the situation" with Beat Generation. The wikipedia lawyers get me down on occasion myself, but try not to get too upset at IrishGuy's officious tone. He's one of a handful of people with the energy to watch that page and revert the (constant!) attempts at vandalism, you can't blame him for being a little curt.
As for being reluctant to contribute -- well yeah, you're going to get into arguments with people, and some of them are going to be spitting [WP:verbotten], [WP:thoushaltnot], and [WP:made_up_by_a_few_programmers] every other breath, but try not to let it get you down. Just try to be reasonable, work out compromises, etc -- that's more important than technical compliance with The Rules (which aren't really rules).
By the way, what you did (drop in a link, but make sure people know it's yours) wasn't a bad approach at all by me; but another one you could've used is to just mention it in the talk page: here's something I put up, I won't link to it myself, but if anyone here thinks it's worthwhile, that's great. -- Doom (talk) 16:53, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
