Awesome signature!

Have you considered adding it to Wikipedia:Smurrayinchester's signature tutorial#Real-life examples? ―Mandruss  19:38, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

Change

Thanks for explaining and for making the change, I am new here so I am not quite sure what I am doing! Murunpp (talk) 19:37, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

A user called 'Imperial HRH2' has replaced the reference to Cristiano Ronaldo without reason. Can you remove it again please? Imperial HRH2 seems to be a Cristiano Ronaldo fan who is not acting impartially. Many thanks Murunpp (talk) 21:21, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

@Murunpp: I'll take a look, but I think it's appropriate to let the discussion continue a bit. If you think it should be changed, you can put in another edit request. Since I responded to the last request that was reverted, it's best to allow another autoconfirmed editor to look at the next one. Also, seeing this may become contentions, you may want to continue editing until you're autoconfirmed. Also see Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution#Resolving_content_disputes. B E C K Y S A Y L E 22:00, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Thasnks for the advice. It seems I may have been wrong anyway, although there is definitely an agenda on that page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Murunpp (talkcontribs) 22:04, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

thanks for your recently comment on the talk page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Thesara_Jayawardane , I am bit confused here. i created this page is a biographical living person. this page is subject to frequent vandalism regards to the person's age and marital status. these attacks may be personal level of that person and not in good faith. can you help me to protect this article. your help is highly appreciated. regards 120.148.222.233 (talk) 05:25, 24 January 2015 (UTC) 120.148.222.233 (talk) 05:26, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello @Eeriyaka: thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. I'm not certain if the IPUser above is you, but it said it created the page. Thanks: NFL collective bargaining agreement

Hi Becky, thanks so much for reviewing the NFL collective bargaining agreement article and taking it live. Since there are a few issues you noted with the draft, I'd love to help resolve those. I have a some suggestions to resolve the orphan status of the article. Due to my financial COI (I'm a consultant to the NFLPA), I steer clear of direct editing, so I hope you might be able to help make the edits if I can prep them for you?

Suggestions for adding links back to the NFL CBA article:

Would it be overwhelming to list some terms that could be wikilinked within the NFL CBA article? I'm sure there are lots; I focused on the biggest items rather than adding a lot of links throughout, but can easily identify more links if you think they're needed.

With regards to the lead of the article, can you give me some more feedback on what kind of detail you'd like to see included there that isn't right now? I was going for a succinct overview but perhaps was a little too brief! Thanks! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 17:08, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

@16912 Rhiannon: I've added some links to the article and removed that from the template. As for the lead, I was thinking that it needs some description of what is in the agreement. Right now it says it is a labor agreement, and then has the years of agreements. But given the length of the article, the lead should be longer. Perhaps a bit on what is a labor agreement, and what are the components that are either specific to the NFL or have been of particular concern across the years.  B E C K Y S A Y L E 03:34, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Becky, appreciate your thoughts on the lead and I totally see where you're coming from. I'll have another go at some wording for that and share back. Thanks again, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 16:37, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Kinda rude

Hey, thanks for your commitment to keeping WP high quality. However, its a bit over-zealous to march onto a brand new article and slap tags on it moments after it was created. That's how you scare away new editors and keep old ones from wanting to continue contribute. Please, don't scare away the volunteers. • Freechildtalk 18:31, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

@Freechild:. Thanks for the note. I was under the impression that Wikipedia:New_pages_patrol#Patroller_checklists was meant to help new editors with fixing newly created articles, and that cleanup templates help organize articles requiring attention for various reasons. Can you clarify/expand on what you mean by "keep old ones from wanting to continue contribute"?  B E C K Y S A Y L E 18:52, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
As a long-time contributor to the project, I'm exhausted by constant auto-patrolling by editors who are well-intended, but ultimately, poorly behaving. I have talked with several other people who have the same experience. We aren't here to bring down the quality or intention of WP, but are treated as such by actions like what you took on the aforementioned article. • Freechildtalk 18:19, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
@Freechild: I'm not sure I see the connection between adding template messages to new articles and treatment of you as an editor. It was a new article, and had a few issues that were identified with tags, whether you intended them or not. I would expect an experienced editor, especially with autopatrolled rights, to be familiar with WP:Notability, and WP:RS so that articles created aren't inappropriate material. Is it not common practice of experienced editors to develop articles in draft or user space first? or to place a {{In creation}} or {{inuse}} on them?  B E C K Y S A Y L E 19:06, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

Archiving

Are you sure all those pages need an archive setup ? Mlpearc (open channel) 21:32, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

@Mlpearc: I believe so, they didn't have one before and now they'll be enabled for the OCA script for whenever it becomes necessary. Is there a reason not to have that? it's not affecting the talk pages until someone decides to use it right? B E C K Y S A Y L E 21:38, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
(edit conflict) My concern is a "mass" setup should be discussed first. Mlpearc (open channel) 21:55, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Becky, yes. Generally, OCA shouldn't be the only archiving on article talk pages. If archiving is to be set up on those pages, it should be automatic archiving using {{User:MiszaBot/config}}. Using that will still allow usage of OCA if there is a section with no timestamp or something else preventing automatic archiving. Also, talk pages should generally not be archived if they are less than 75K in size. Please go back through your list and change all of them to use {{User:MiszaBot/config}} instead of {{Archive basics}}. I'll also note that setting up archiving on talk pages like this usually only occurs once a discussion is started on the talk page to see if there is any objection, if there is consensus or no comments, or if the page is above the 250K threshold. Thank you. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 21:54, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

@Technical 13: I have undone the addition of {{Archive basics}}. Can you help me understand the difference? I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "OCA shouldn't be the only archiving on article talk pages"? Using {{User:MiszaBot/config}} sets up automatic archiving. But {{Archive basics}} doesn't, it just sets up for use of OCA. So if someone wanted automatic archiving, {{User:MiszaBot/config}} could still be added, right? Help:Archiving a talk page says archiving is suggested when there's resolved or stale discussions. So isn't it unnecessary/improbable to have a discussion on archiving resolved/stale discussions?  B E C K Y S A Y L E 06:42, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Sorry about the delay. I got got up in some `stuff` that prevented me from replying sooner. OneClickArchiver is intended for archiving a user's own talk page. It is also useful for archiving sections that bots don't archive automatically on other talk pages for various reasons. While it is acceptable to use only OneClickArchiver on a user's talk page if that is what they wish and the size of their page doesn't get out of hand, bots should archive all other talk pages. Not sure if that is any clearer, but it is my interpretation of the current consensus. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 15:57, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Globo Wiki Page

Hi Becky I picked up the task of reworking a Wiki page you rejected last week. You said the references/citations were not properly sourced. When i checked the previous guy doing it had not put the links in at all.

I'm a bit new to this as well but I have tidied up the page, put the links in for the citations, and also want to list it as a "technology company stub"

I hope that gets past the hurdles. Let me know if there is something else you think needs correcting. Thank you

Kevin username telecomtails Telecomtails (talk) 16:40, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi @Telecomtails: can you tell me specifically what page you are addressing?  B E C K Y S A Y L E 18:08, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Apologies - can't figure out the talk system

Hi Becky i began a Talk session with you last night re the Globo Wiki Page I have been editing. Forgive me, first time I have used the service and I found your reply but can't seem to find the way to add my answer to it. You asked what wiki page I was specifically referring to... it is this one

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Globo_(company)

You will see in the history you rejected it last week. I think that was because the citation links were poor. I think the guy that originally did this for me didn't provide the links correctly. I have since worked on it with my son and I think we have a good page now. We are also tagging it as Technology company stub entry.

Hopefully it is now OK to publish. Could you let me know if there are any other problems with the page.

Thanks - and again, sorry for not being able to figure out Talk without starting a new message.
