editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. – B.hotep •talk• 16:06, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
{{helpme}} B.hotep. I was accussed of vandalising the wiki page for Evony. There is information there which is incorrect such as Publisher, Developer, etc. Indeed, I specifically see one person here who is Bruce Everiss who continues to place libel and other litigious information across the web and I am trying to stop it.
Such false information is that:
- False: Evony is backed by UMGE. True: Evony is backed by Evony, LLC, which owns all IP and rights. Evony, LLC is a limited liability company incorporated in Delaware.
- False: Evony is developed by UMGE: True: Evony is developed and owned by Evony, LLC. The licensee is Regan Mercantile US LLC. UMGE was a contractor for a brief period on the early alpha and beta stage of the game.
- False: Evony is linked to wowmine. True: Evony is not linked to wowmine nor have we at any time, and the article cited takes its source documentation from Bruce on Games, which is untrue. We are currently in the process of litigation against The Guardian and Bruce Everiss.
- True: Evony has reached 5,000,000 registered players. Our databases confirm this and we have notified players of this important milestone.
Whilst no company can be seen as perfect in all eyes, what is apparent is when trying to correct libel and malicious falsehoods being perpetrated by Bruce Everiss and The Guardian, that Wikipedia is accepting such falsehoods. I would appreciate that some truth can be placed on the Wiki page. We do not mind the different opinions in the criticism section, we simply want falsehoods removed. - Hey. My suggestion regarding facts about the game, if you can find a primary source that backs up the information use it as a reference. primary sources can be used to back up uncontroversial fact like number of players, or game engine, or who owns the game. I do not like criticism sections because they are often very bias. These sections should only be backed by reliable secondary sources, or else be removed to keep a neutral point of view. Hope this helps.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 22:36, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Is your account being used on behalf of Evony? If so, you should make sure to read WP:COI and WP:NPOV before continuing to edit more. As for why your edits were reverted, it was because you removed content from the wiki and added content that was unverified. In this edit you removed content, stating that what was printed was incorrect; however, not only did you not provide reliable sources, but you removed content from a verified source. You did the same thing here, and also marked it as a minor edit with no summary, which is misleading to other editors. Your edit here provides no source so, although it may be true, make sure to read about no original research in addition to the other policies. Finally, this edit appears to be non-neutral. We'd all love to have you continue to contribute, but make sure to read all those before doing so, or your edits will continue to be reverted. ~ Amory (user • talk • contribs) 22:44, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Evony image!
editHello, Bgiff! Since you apparently work at Evony LLC, I was wondering if you could do the Evony article a favor. There is currently a request for a screenshot of the gameplay to aid in the reader's comprehension of the gameplay and the game's style. Now, any ol' person can go to the game and take a screenshot of it, but since you work at Evony, I was wondering if you could do so (take a screenshot) and license it under a free license. What do you think? Thanks, BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 04:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, that'd be great! I suggest you upload them at Wikimedia Commons because there, they are available to all Wikimedia projects, whereas if you upload them on English Wikipedia, only English Wikipedia can use them. (The reason I say this is that there is now a Korean Wikipedia article about Evony on Korean Wikipedia, and it might benefit from some pictures too! So, yes, an image of what a player starts with would be good, maybe an image of a battle or a thriving city, and one of an ingame interface would all be much appreciated. Just leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions or if I can help at all. Thanks BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 14:47, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Evony
editIf you do work for Evony, then I'd like to say that your company is disgusting for resorting to such advertisements in order to get players. No doubt that the Chinese gold farmers are behind this, how pathetic. 218.186.13.10 (talk) 10:02, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
