Add info on 20th century. Restoration details covered by another user. Good place for details about New London Day! Reconsider "Indian Wars." Sources for military history. dddonald (talk) 13:58, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Great job! This looks very good. Include something that says we are not quite sure of the exact site of the arsenal. Include (maybe in a footnote) an explanation of why the historical marker is incorrect. Is there any Civil War history associated with New London? Good writing and good sources! dddonald (talk) 15:09, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

There's a story in the Read book about a Union General involved with an operation around Lynchburg. Haven't found much beyond that story and the connection to Harper's Ferry. I'll see what I can find. Bhhamilton2 (talk) 16:27, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Maria's Peer Review

Great job. You have done well in using the sources that gather valuable information about military background of New London. The article could possibly use a separate section for the French and Indian War. Since New London was involved in several conflicts of that war, it might be significant enough to make a section of its own. Also, I am glad that you included something that Thomas Jefferson said related to New London. You have made headway towards making this subject accessible and interesting to others. Good progress.

Jacob's Review

This article was very well researched and written. Nonetheless, there are some things that could be done to improve it. The article is not very clear on what year the armory was first used. Did it play a part in the French and Indian War, or the Anglo-Cherokee War? The article is also not very clear on what happened to the armory after the year 1812. Did it get torn down, or was it converted into a different type of building? JW1996 (talk) 20:27, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

A good photo to add to this might be of a battle from the American Revolution in the Southern Theater. The article discusses how the armory was used to held supply the Continental Army. Virginia was also part of the Southern Colonies during the war. JW1996 (talk) 21:13, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Excellent research! I have a couple of sources that are not directly related to New London, (such as more information on the Anglo-Cherokee war and the Whiskey Rebellion) but may help to add more in the realm of references. The only major changes that should be made regards wording. John McGrath (talk) 17:28, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

As for recommendations for photographs, I would recommend adding a photo of the general store with the caption below mentioning about how it is believed that it sits on the site of the old powder magazine. Another image that would be good would be one showing the possible armaments that were manufactured and maintained at the New London Arsenal. John McGrath (talk) 15:41, 8 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Points of interest for alteration:

- I would recommend removing the phrase "During the America War for Independence,..." and placing it instead on the end of the sentence to make the sentence more direct, and less folksy. I am going to edit it myself, so you are welcome to change it back if you so prefer it.

- It may be in your interest to add an entire subsection on the local military history of the people of New London (and Bedford County overall) in regards to their interactions with all major local native American tribes over the years, if you want to add some additional content to your already extensive material. If you do, I'd recommend looking to the Cherokee, Tutelo, Catawba, and Monacan tribes.
