Come . . . to Isshin-ryū Talk!
editPlease!
Sorry, you are there! I will continue on that TALK page!
MOAR Isshin-Ryū
editI will add this in Talk as well.
It seems that if anyone reviewed the article they did not change it. From my standpoint, it seems to be as it stands a good blend where the readers can check the references--and rebuttals to such--and make an informed decision. TheDoctorX (talk) 06:05, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
Even MOAR Isshin-Ryū
editKindly take a look at the History to see what an anonymous editor did to the article:
I Don't Wike Bishop!
editOddly enough he removed a section that cites Bishop claiming it is "false" without explanation. I reverted it all back to where we were and advised him to provide evidence in Talk.
A.J. Advincula
editHe claimed that Advincula designed the symbol then patch. This may be true. I do not know. I forgot to ask him! I asked the anonymous editor on his sort of "Talk" page to simply provide a reference. If you have a reference to support/rebut that, please provide it.
Rank Issues
editHe also contributed a long but ungrammatical, unlinked, and unsourced paragraph on ranking. It may be valid, but it has no reference. MOST Okinawan systems follow a similar 10-dan pattern. I was aware of a few Isshin-Ryū who followed the Japanese Jūdō system of checkered red-white then red for the 6+ dan ranking.
Whatever.
I asked on his Talk to simply provide a reference for it. If you have one, it might be a good section to add. Here is what he wrote:
Rank requirements for KYU RANKS vary from dojo to dojo. There are ten Dan Ranks in Isshin-Ryu. Dan Ranks were set up by Tatsuo Shimabuku in this order: Sho-Dan varies because of dojo's kyu rank requirements, Ni-Dan requires at least two years after the Sho-Dan promotion, San-Dan requires at least three years after the Ni-Dan promotion, Yon-Dan requires at least ten years as a black belt of five years from the San-Dan promotion and a minimum age of twenty-eight. Go-Dan requires at least five years after the Yon-Dan promotion and is a Renshi rank. Roku-Dan requires at least another five years after the Go-Dan promotion and has a minimum age of thirty-eight and is a renshi/Shihan rank "Master", Shichi-Dan requires at least ten years from the Roku-Dan promotion and is a Kyoshi Rank, Hachi-Dan requires at least another ten years from the Shichi-Dan promotion and is a Kyoshi Rank, Ku-Dan requires a minimum of ten years from the Hachi-Dan rank and is a Hanshi Rank "Grandmaster", Ju-Dan is the highest rank achieveable in karate and requires a minimum of ten years from the Ku-Dan rank it is a Hashi Rank "Grandmaster". This means that there should be no one with a Hanshi Rank under sixty-eight years of age.
It needs grammar clean up and links, blah . . . blah . . . but I am happy to do that so long as it is legitimate.
Best! TheDoctorX (talk) 07:34, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
I wasted quite enough of my time on this already, thank you. Billyinthedarbies (talk) 02:24, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
