Sankarshan Das

edit

Hello Bindumadhava. I noticed that you added a link concerning Sankarshan Das of ISKCON. Adding a link to his references can be useful, but you might want to establish his notability first. I will start up a stub, because I like to create new articles. Please feel free to edit it since you probably know more about how to find references concerning Sankarshan Das. Thanks. Speedy deletion of Image:Sankarshan das adhikari.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Sankarshan das adhikari.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Sankarshan das adhikari.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. hmwithτ 00:56, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Response to query

Hello, Bindumadhava. I would be glad to help you with adding the correct license to this image. I know this can be a bit confusing at first. What you need to do it add a tag to the image. Do you know its specific copyright status? That's needed for the image to be hosted on Wikipedia.

However, if the copyright holder gave you permission to use the image specifically for Wikipedia, that's not a valid license here. The criteria for speedy deletion policy explains that "images licensed as 'for non-commercial use only', 'non-derivative use' or 'used with permission'" are to be speedy deleted unless they comply with the non-free content guidelines, which Image:Sankarshan das adhikari.jpg does not, as it is replaceable.

The image could be used, though, if the copyright holder decides to release the image under the GNU Free Documentation License (more information can be found at WP:GFDL). Let me know if you have any further questions. Have a great day, hmwithτ 01:49, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You can simply drop me a line, and I'll undelete the image, and I can assist you in correctly tagging the image if you'd like. Have a great day, and I look forward to hearing back from you. hmwithτ 21:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I'm positively overwhelmed by your attitude to help and assist a newcomer to Wikipedia. Now I have received permission to make the image available under the GNU Free documentation license.Bindumadhava (talk) 20:22, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alright. I think all of the information you need is available on Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. hmwithτ 03:18, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

How should the Krishna-centered traditions of Hinduism should be represented?

Join WikiProject Krishnaism. There are many traditions where Krishna is worshiped and His names revered. The purpose of this project is to join forces and create more beautiful and well sourced articles. The traditions are not limited to one or two; there are many and all should be given equal attention. Leave a few words here and we will discuss it further. Thanks. Undeletion request

I have userfied the article to User:Bindumadhava/Sankarshan Das Adhikari. It was deleted in an AFD discussion because it lacked reliable sourcing. Please do not re-introduce the article into the mainspace unless this problem can be resolved. –xeno talk 16:47, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
