"a shower of cunts" is a perfectly legitimate phrase that is used in Central Scotland to describe, if in Glasgow and surrounding areas, the football team who represents the religious or geographically based local rivals, or any collective grouping of people they don't like. Like a murder of crows but vulgar and at the same time used jokingly. And at the same time you let " a cummerbund of curlews" stay.
