A friendly note

edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

Accounts used solely for blatant self-promotion may be blocked without further warning.

For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. YechielMan 03:58, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

please use templates on new government or other Canada articles

edit

Please use {{WikiProject Canada|cangov=yes}} on discussion pages of articles you create for agencies of the CAnadeian government or related articles. If it is a more general article you should omit the cangov=switch; geographid articles can have geography=yes and anytyhing to do with specific provinces use bc=yes, ab=yes, qc=yes etc.Skookum1 (talk) 20:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

Is it possible to find some more sources of information on this topic Canadian Biodiversity Information Network? It is tagged with a notability tag, and there are currently 31 articles in the scope of wikiproject Canada which are tagged with notability concerns, so I am contacting all the article creation editors to see if the quantity of notable articles can be reduced, and quality increased.
