Ottoman Palestine

Perhaps I am not getting the point, or perhaps nobody is trying to make it, or perhaps there is no point. So let me ask you: why did you say this page Ottoman Palestine is a non-standard disambiguation page? Perhaps you can explain why everybody coming from dab seem sto have a problem with this. I would like to ask you to go over the talkpage first, before replying, to make sure we are on the same frequency, so to speak. Debresser (talk) 15:53, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

On Puerto Rico Suggestion

I am writing to see if you and user:Penn 1899, user:Golbez, user:Blondeguynative and whoever else is interested, could find a resolution to the slow, but incremental editing dispute on Puerto Rico and Congress.

An appropriate place would be the article Talk Page. I am interested in seeing this settled. Just for reference, there is an old discussion here that may be helpful. Let me know what you think. Caballero//Historiador 14:55, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

Sir Robert Carr, Kt.

Dear Bkonrad,
Thank you for reminding me that ref tags are not required in disambiguation pages. However, I would like to restore the entry itself—without the ref tag of course—as it is a legitimate use of the page: various forms of Sir Robert Carr, Kt.'s name are mentioned in a few articles and I corrected one entry today, where his name had been misspelt as 'Richard Carr'. I then thought of adding a wikilink, but since there isn't an article about him, I decided to add an entry in the dab page (and included the ref tag by mistake). Thank you for your support and cooperation.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 16:42, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Thank you. (I was typing the above while you were in the process of restoring the entry...  )
With kind regards;

MOS:DABORDER

The MOS:DABORDER guideline makes a distinction between ordinary disambiguation pages and long ones. It recommends long ones be ordered alphabetically. Therefore your edit summary can be interpreted as misleading. Min al Khadr (talk) 22:17, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

It's been discussed (a lot actually) and WP:DABORDER also clearly says in #1 the most common meanings may be placed at the top, with other meanings below. olderwiser 02:11, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

Pls help urgently: Baeksang Arts Awards

Can you help me to resolve?

I renamed "Baeksang Arts Awards" to "Baeksang Arts Awards x" as I want to move "Paeksang Arts Awards" to "Baeksang Arts Awards" as the primary page. But I find that I can't rename "Paeksang Arts Awards", so I revert back "Baeksang Arts Awards x" to "Baeksang Arts Awards". However, if I go to Paeksang Arts Awards, I can't see the links to Baeksang Arts Awards.

But if I go to Baeksang Arts Awards x, the links are still there.

Sorry for the problem created.

Sybil

A perfectly sourced and comprehensive paragraph on Sybil the flourish should be linked from the name itself, not "card flourish"? Best, Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your prize!) 02:16, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Piped section links are only allowed on disambiguation pages with very specific exceptions. They should only be used in the description. See WP:DABPIPE or more specifically WP:DABSECTION. olderwiser 02:20, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Qaraylar

Thank you for your much appreciated contributions to the Qaraylar disambiguation. The only reason I removed Crimean Karaites is because they are already covered under the designation Qaraim in the disambiguation being (allegedly) nothing but a type of Karaite Jew (properly called Qara'im). I am just asking is it really necessary to have two links to them in the disambiguation? I mean wouldn't that be a bit like having a disambiguation page say about something which could relate to Christianity and then having one link to Christianity itself and another link to Protestants and another to Catholics etc., etc.? Wouldn't it all be enough to have it all covered under just one link to Christianity in general? As long as I have clarified the reason, I will bow to your greater understanding of the disambiguation page rules. Best regards. YuHuw (talk) 11:08, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Bkonrad.
Could you explain my edits revert here?
I definitely explain the reason of my last edit:
If you have no any reason to deny my arguments I ask you to revert your last edit back. Please also consider the history of EW on the Qaraylar page Неполканов (talk) 15:43, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, Bkonrad. You have new messages at H.dryad's talk page.
Message added 13:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Why did you revert my edits to Subha? It had been a disambiguation page that had been rewritten to be the page of a model, with no note that there are others that may use that name as well. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 13:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Ah, never mind. I saw your re-revert. Cheers! Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 13:35, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
Yes, sorry, I didn't notice until after I reverted you that it was a different editor that had restored the unsourced unnotable bio page. olderwiser 13:36, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
No worries. Take care. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 13:51, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Lagos, Nigeria. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Jamie Tubers (talk) 02:09, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

  • The WP:TWODABS that you cited only works in situations where there's a primary topic for a term, and the primary topic is in the namespace of the term. In this case, "Lagos, Nigeria" does not automatically mean the "city", most times, it refers to the megacity/meglopolis, which comprises of the entire state. Stop editwarring on issues you are barely knowledgeable about.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 02:14, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
The city has been the primary topic for a very long time now. Please discuss and establish consensus for changing this. olderwiser 04:05, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
