You have been trying to add a link to the website of the NLS organisation onto the Jacques Lacan page. Please note that the place for such a link is in the External links section (and not overwriting the References heading). But please note also the maintenance box in External links on the Lacan article, referrnig to Wikipedia policy on what are appropriate external links. AllyD (talk) 21:36, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on ''Hurly-Burly (Journal)'' requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Noiratsi (talk) 21:44, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I am new to Wikipedia and seem to be making a few blunders, especially with where to insert links, but I understand a little better now. However, I do think the Journal Hurly-Burly has been nominated for deletion in error for the reasons I have explained on the talk page and on the page for contesting the deletion. But to detail my arguments further: Few texts by the famous French psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan have been translated and Hurly-Burly is an important source for official translations into English(with the authorisation of Jacques-Alain Miller who has the rights to Lacan's texts). Hurly-Burly will not be found on academic databases as it is a psychoanalytic journal and psychoanalysis, as a practice, is not taught in the university for complex reasons that I will not go into here, but is taught in psychoanalytic schools such as the New Lacanian School which don't require peer-evaluated publications as they have other processes of evaluation. Hurly-Burly, though it is read by academics in many countries, is primarily addressed to practitioners. Although this is a young journal in comparison to its counterpart The International Journal of Psycho-analysis (published by the International Association of Psychoanalysis), its existence is essential if we are to avoid a monopoly on psychoanalytic training as it is published by the only other international association: the World Association of Psychoanalysis. If necessary, the editor of Hurly-Burly will contact the president of the World Association of Psychoanalysis to obtain a letter attesting to the validity of this information.
