Adoption

edit

I see that you are seeking adoption from an experienced Wikipedian. I think that I would be able to fill that position. Reply here if you are interested. Happy editing! Greeves (talk contribs reviews) 21:55, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm interested. BlackSlivers 01:47, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've changed your adoption userbox. Feel free to ask me any questions! Greeves (talk contribs reviews) 21:55, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Userboxes

edit

Sorry that I have been late in getting back to your question. I will be sure that it does not happen in the future. Anyway, userboxes are boxes that describe you. at Wikipedia:Userboxes it describes many different ways to use them. One of the ways is to use a box to put them along the right-hand side of your page. Try this code:

{{Userboxtop|Elissa's Userboxes}}
{{Template:User Name|Elissa}}
{{User:UBX/female}}
{{Template:User Australian}}
{{Template:user age|14}}
{{User:UBX/My Chemical Romance}}
{{Adoptee|Greeves}}
{{Userboxbottom}}

It will produce the bar to the right. Also, go to the bottom of Wikipedia:Userboxes and there will be a navigation box which you can use to find userboxes that describe yourself.

Sorry again for being so late with your reply! Greeves (talk contribs) 12:02, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Survey

edit

Hi BlackSlivers!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! WWI WiR

edit

Wikimedia Australia is currently launching a program to improve coverage of Australian topics during World War I, and a key demographic we want involved is women in Australian who have edited Wikipedia. Having reviewed your contributions, I encourage you to sign up for this latest program if possible.

wmau:Proposal:WWI_WiR

As studies have found that only 10% of Wikipedia contributors are women, we will need every woman that we can find in order to meet our target of 75%. I hope you will apply.

While advertising that program to women in Australia, I noticed that you are identified as Australian, but have not identified which region of the world you live in. If you do live in Australia, it will be helpful if you could become a member of this category, or even better a state subcategory to help us inform you of programs that may interest you :

Category:Wikipedians_in_Australia

If you are interested in learning more about Wikimedia Australia, please read the last presidents report and do no hesitate to ask me any questions or make suggestions.

New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

edit

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
