Hi Blacknail. It seems you haven't been welcomed yet, so let me do that now. First, here are a few useful links:

Out of curiosity, were you the anonymous user that created the Alberta and Ontario WikiProjects? If so, you probably recognize my userid.

One comment: the talk pages should be used for discussion; info about yourself should go in the userpage; I've moved some info for you - I hope you don't mind (usually, it's considered rude to edit someone else's userpage except to remove vandalism). If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page, and remember to sign your messages with four tildes, ~~~~. Mindmatrix 18:29, 19 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for correcting the category stuff for the Lakes of Ontario. I wasn't sure that you must list the article in the category brackets. Cheers Cafe Nervosa | talk

Conservation Halton stuff

edit

See my reply to you on the Glen Eden talk page. Mrtea (talk) 00:41, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

By the way, where'd you get the info that CH is previously known as the HRCA? I'm quite sure it goes by either. The Conservation Authorities Act lists it as the Halton Region Conservation Authoirty. I believe this the organization's legal name. Mrtea (talk) 00:47, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I think it's generally a bad idea to have articles redirect to simply related articles, mainly because it causes pages to redirect into themselves. I made the Hilton Falls redirect into a stub so it doesn't redirect into Conservation Halton. What about Kelso/Glen Eden. You're making them into two seperate articles? I suppose if we have a similar message in either article saying something like "this is that park in the winter" sort of thing? Can you make Kelso into a stub so it doesn't make a redirect paradox? Cheers, Mrtea (talk) 01:06, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, sorry about that, I wasn't thinking about the double redirect and then realized the problem, but had to run before I could fix it. Glen Eden is a seperate entity that operates on Kelso property - I am basing this on the Conservation Halton website for Kelso. Also, everything on the website talks about Conservation Halton, including their logo. I grew up in Campbellville and it was all about HRCA but that doesn't seem to be the case any more... I say write about the fact that HRCA is the legal name, but if they are branding themselves as CH then that is what we should title the article... --Blacknail
Yep I'm fine with the title of the article. It was just the "previously known as" part that had me second guessing. I do know it is their legal name. The parks all have a lot of potential for their articles, with features, rates, etc. I suppose we could also list park managers/board members, however they probably aren't notable enough to merit their own articles. Hey Blacknail. Can you try to use edit summaries as much as possible? It helps other users quickly see what edits have been made. Mrtea (talk) 05:11, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia Canada

edit

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 17:11, 20 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have replied on my talk page. As I mention there, this is something that requires followup from the developers; in the meantime, a workaround would be to turn off Google Web Accelerator. -- Curps 16:03, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Milton Ontario - Development section

edit

Hi Blacknail! You removed alot of information from the development section on the Milton Ontario page. You mentioned that you removed the list of "rumored" stores, but they infact are not rumors. The stores I had listed are already operating at the Crossroads Plaza in Milton, and the ones that I listed that are to be built have been confirmed by the town in the Canadian Champion newspaper. They also have signs up were they will be built. I have lived in Milton for over 16 years and still do, so im pretty sure I know what's happening and what's not. You live in Alberta ... that's a long way from here.

Edmonton meetup

edit

Hello - I'm contacting you with this message because you have listed yourself in Category:Wikipedians in Edmonton - if you are not actually in Edmonton, I apologize for bothering you; unfortunately, the sort of spamming I'm doing isn't conducive to reading everybody's userpages thoroughly. I am investigating the possibility of creating a Wikipedia meetup in Edmonton for sometime during the spring or summer of 2008. If you're interested, please visit Wikipedia:Meetup/Edmonton, add yourself to the list of interested editors, and watchlist the page. Cheers, Sarcasticidealist (talk) 23:59, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
